1 in 4 Americans is a family caregiver (providing care to an adult). This map is interesting.
All the people who imagined that the destruction of USAID was the result of a failure of communication, or localization, or innovation, or..... It was a small group of billionaires and cranks, brains mushy with conspiracy theories and self-confidence. And yes Elon killed thousands of people.

I think it's pretty clear that AI will be disruptive to employment. But what jobs are at risk, how and when are not nearly as clear as you might imagine. There's a reasonably long causal chain to job displacement that hasn't been sorted out yet. Some layoffs will probably have to be reversed.
In the poorest, most agrarian countries, domestic production is the biggest risk factor (drought or farm failures). But countries have other risks from other shocks: macroeconomic & commodity prices, foreign investment. The relative importance varies a lot. www.ifpri.org/blog/beyond-...
US farmers- especially in the South- expect bailouts so they don't plan or hedge. The Farm Bill provides a lot of income security-especially for big farmers of specific crops. Smaller farmers are much more vulnerable to market and weather. The fertilizer shock combines with other cost inflation.
