I'm working out of my childhood hometown’s library today. A lot of it looks the same but it got a little ridiculous when I realized that they still have the same scratch paper on the study carrels. I don't just mean it's the same style, I mean it’s actually still the same paper dated from the 90s

Last year for my son’s 8th birthday party, we loaded up my dad’s truck with snacks, drinks, sports equipment, cake, etc for an afternoon of soccer and kickball at the park with ~35 people. This year we did the same party but I thought we could do better on the transportation #CarryShitOlympics

Hall grew up in Oklahoma, where he worked as a correctional officer, before moving to Texas a decade ago. He visited Austin for South by Southwest to party, parked somewhere he shouldn't, got his car towed and ended up staying in town to work for the towing company because he couldn't immediately afford the fees.

DPW held an informational open house about a “proposed bridge improvement project” for one of my regular bike routes (see my pinned post) and it turns out the word “improvement” is engineer-speak for a bit of touch up paint. Totally fair but not what I expected from their jaunty invite 😅
