I saw the Massive Attack show. I will say it’s interesting that a quintessential Gen X band is unpacking and forcing discomfort about the current politics and culture of the moment in a way that few otherwise are and / or doing so directly
Album of the year? Album of the year? Three albums of the year!
Haven’t posted to the music and hifi thread *forever* so thought I’d drop a post and simply note that this is a rather good album innit
After emptying my recycling, Clive Palmer’s recent pamphlet remained stuck to the crud on the bottom and I’m sure there’s a tortured metaphor somehow here
The records on the bottom two shelves here have *no idea* what you’re talking about 😬
Recently made a huge batch of mac n cheese for a get together (this is 1 of 2 trays), and was going to hand grate the kilos of cheese with a box grater until @shanavyre.bsky.social pointed out we had a food processor that could do that
Annoying to pay good $$$ for an out of print academic book, only for it to arrive with the bargain bin price still on it 🙃
I got 99 problems but for the purposes of demonstrating the academic and industry impact of my work to future employers, this paper ain't one
Late evening here, just done my reading group reading for the evening and spinning the Danzig reissue I picked up on the weekend
Lit the smoker and did some beef ribs today. Enjoying them a lot more now I realised you can just serve them like sliced brisket rather than caveman-style whole on the rib and dying trying to eat about 500g of super rich beef
Don’t have ducted but do have two Mitsubishi and they work v well. Believe it or not, this big bopper does this large open space dining / kitchen area and shoots air right down the hall to effectively cool / heat the 3 bedrooms down that way
Lit the smoker Friday night and cooked a 12hr brisket and 14hr Boston butt for pulled pork and had 40 odd adults and kids over. Was fun, here’s us with the ~7kg of mac n cheese 🤣
Classic should of been an email. The bloke made me set up the laptop to watch as I cooked dinner 😒
No wonder students don't read anymore - look at this hideousness locked down in the browser only 🤢
Imma going to be that guy and say if you’re looking in Canb then most 20th C places would have cypress pine flooring (which is a softwood). It’s all through my 70s brown brick (including the kitchen, excuse the mess we’re not neat and tidy folks 🙃).
28c and 70% humidity at 11.45am when I finished. Bit hot 🫠
Second cubic metre of top dress on the back lawn today. Lumps and bumps remain 🙃
