#Caturday In Moonpie's defense: B4 me, she was a stray for 7-9 yrs...so "outside" is home to her. She's always braved the elements, but she's older now & doesn't understand her body can't take the things it used to. She sleeps inside w/ me, but insists on porch/yard during the day. 🤷🏻♀️.
As an avid gardener (& proud member of #Plantifa 😉), I'm super excited about my 1st baby #watermelon of the year. She made her debut in my garden, a couple days ago. I'm stupid excited about it. #gardening
The first of my sunflowers 🌻 to bloom, many more on the way. Gardening (& my animals) has done more for my mental health (through this political insanity) than I could ever put into words. #Gardening #sunflowers
What is it with the constant remakes now? The original "Weekend at Bernie's" was way better.
More goodies from my garden. Yes those are potatoes on the bottom right. Just me over here breaking the rules to see if I could grow taters in the summer, if I used a shade cloth. Spoiler: I can/did, and in grow zone 9a even! #Gardening
This is "Texas Vervain". I just wild harvested some from the yard. Gonna make a tincture from it. It's great for the nervous system, helps relieve anxiety, stress, mild depression, and sleep. It also helps with inflammation and digestion #Herbalism
Any #OrganicGardening tips that are better than this for cutworms ? Don't say D.E. Because it's not the solution here. Rainy season + too much area (3 gardens) = daily reapplication; not practical. #sunflowers #garden
Angus (orange feral stray) still shows up every morning, for breakfast. Moonpie has gone from hating it, to looking for him. He eats and immediately leaves. Still can't touch him, but he keeps coming back for food. This is going to be a ling process, but I'm just happy I know he's bo longer hungry
One of my integrative medicine clients (who has become a dear friend) surprised me with this. Hilarious, and oh so sweet. 🙌🫶 I'm genuinely grateful for all of the wonderful people (& animals) in my life 🙏 #MothersDay #Catmom
This southern gentleman has been coming here for breakfast (& dinner), for the past 5 days. He's a stray & he's deaf. He is very skittish & won't let me touch him (yet) but I'm hoping to make him a part of the family in due time. Moonpie is hyper-territorial, so it will be a process. He's so sweet!
These black aphids scared the bejeezus out of me. With all the videos going around about the insane tick infestations (all across the US) I can't be the only gardener/outdoorsy person on edge. Anyone else going throughh tick anxiety? #Gardening
Happy #Caturday from this lazy girl. It was a rainy, chilly morning, and she was just not having it
Good morning from me & "Moonpie" We're off to do garden work, before it gets too hot 🙏🫶
Grabbed these outta my blackberry patch, on the way to the truck. So grateful for mother nature 🙏🫶 #blackberries #garden #nature
Moonpie followed me into the garden, chose a mound of dirt, and decided that was her "supervisory" position. She loves to roll in the dirt (like a dog) so it was not easy to get her out of there. #Cats #GardenKitty
Mental health check: How are u coping/handling the stress? I've been offline a LOT & focused on what I can control & create: Garden & home prep., my animals, creating a supportive network within my immediate neighborhood, making medicinals, & helping friends do the same. #mentalhealth #homestead
This is the last year of the Farmer's Almanac. Mine just arrived. I grew up with these. My grandfather got one every year. 200 years of printed tradition has come to an end. Makes my heart sad, but I'm thankful to have the last one they will ever put out #FarmersAlmanac
A moment with "Moonpie" (recent addition to the family) to brighten your feed. The way she grabs me with her paw and looks up at me just ....ugh 🥹🙏🫶. The acceptance and love of a stray cat that has been in the streets for at least 7 years (according to neighbors) is the biggest honor 🫶
