I love watching these common wall lizards in my garden, but they are invasive in BC and outcompete native #wildlife. 🦎 Here’s how you can stop their spread: - Check cars/boats/equipment for hitchhikers - Inspect soil/potted plants - Log sightings on the BC Invasive Species app #photography

Dinner party at the lagoon! 🕺🐟 🪶 Great blue herons fly into the lagoon to hunt as the tide rolls in, pushing fish and other critters into shallower water. A few of them got territorial, chasing each other off and showing some real aggression over the best fishing spots. Such a sight to see.

This morning we caught the sunrise at Esquimalt Lagoon and spent some quiet time watching what the morning brought: #birds moving through the water, a harbour seal surfacing now and then, and golden light settling over the lagoon. ♡
