3.4 view of Akasha is complete. Was really enjoying designing her magical sword she can summon while better illustrating her strange magical powers she possess.
Finally after no internet and other various issues I have been having I was able to actually sit down and work on this one some more. Akasha is just about ready for me to start working on the cool effects to her and finishing touches.
Flat colors for Akasha 3/4 view. Going for that dynamic spell casting pose I can't wait to see how it looks all finished. Hardest part of this one was her other hand in the back. I have a cool effect I wanna do with it but I had to get it in the right place first.
After a short Vaca I have returned to finish Motoko from Ghost in the Shell. I feel like I hit that manga style similar to Masamune Shirow as much as it was in my capability to do. So please enjoy the final piece
Flat colors are all done. I chose to combine GITS Stand Alone Complex Motoko's outfit with the colors from the new GITS and I think it makes a really cool look and feel. I was gonna make Tachikoma blue but since the new GITS has more blue hair I decided to go with a red
In honor of the new Ghost in the Shell series coming out, I decided to actually do some fan art of one of my all time favorite characters and the reason why I became a cyberpunk in the first place. Motoko Kusanagi. This is just some cleaned up line art for now. I plan to do some
Front view of Akasha is done and fully rendered. I think it turned it out pretty good even if I do say so myself.
Behold! Gemstone girl! I spent all day rendering that hair and her body! lol. I'm going to start really bringing everything together next. Any lighting and color adjustments clean up and finish rendering effects.
Lighting pass done. Now I am working on rendering and getting her to look like the gemstone she is. By far the hardest part as she is humanoid and making a humanoid look like a gemstone is a little more complex than just a single arm.
Second shading pass also did some color adjusting to create better values and a more cohesive color scheme.
Flat colors done for Akasha. She's going to be an interesting design since like Murain's arm, she is incredly dark colored but also incredibly shiny when the light hits her.
Initial Line Art for Akasha done. One of the Lustrious and whom the shard stuck in Murain's chest belongs to. I decided to do something a little different for this character mock-up, by doing a more dynamic pose of the character especially since she has a very other-worldly nature.
Murain is a half-dragon girl left at the steps of an Orzhov Chapel in the Solaris imperial city. She was raised in the Orzhov and taught how to the ways of a Grave Domain Cleric which she implements in her duties as as a dept collector for the Orzhov Syndicate.
Dragon Butt! I know i made this joke once already but now it's in color, with shading!
3/4 Murrain all done. Love how you can get a really good look at the design of her wings and the green in her hair in this one.
Fun little side by side of the finished front view and the start of the 3/4. Her player asked me to add a tattered effect to the wings so I did. I'll be sure to do it to the 3/4 and the others once they are all done as well.
Final shading and lighting pass is done. Next will be some cleaning up and rendering. I particularly like the crystal arm. Yes, that arm is made out of a gemstone. Specifically, a Black-Fire Opal.
So I made some adjustments on Murrain's colors and shading. I felt the last pass was just too dark and desaturated. She's a black dragon half but that doesn't mean she can't have some color to her.
First shading pass is done. Decided to go with some split colors for her hair tail and wings along with parts of her scales to get that more draconic look.
Recent commission I finished for a customer of their Aasimar from D&D 5e. They have graciously allowed me to share it on socials so I decided I would for everyone.
All directions done! I had to stack them up cause Murrain's wings and tail take up so much space. Is it an insult or a compliment to tell a dragon they have a fat tail? Or is it similar to fat and phat for us? I'm babbling... next comes the painting process and LORE!
DRAGON BUTT!!! Well half dragon, but still BUTT! I cross sectioned the tail and omitted the wings save for the arms of the wings so you can get a better look at the outfit and just the character in general. Also, hair over her chest for same reasons. And cause sexy.
Murrain 3/4 view. I moved her tail and wing so you can get a better view of her details. I'll continue to do the same for each different view so you can get a good idea of the details on each turn especially when to give more detail on her strange arm.
Captain VI (real name Violet) was born in raised in the empiral city of Solarus in the land of Emperium. Her father, Admiral Victor Maxwell, (Human) and her mother, Ambrose Maxwell (Elf) were both citzens in good standing and members of the Solarian Empiral fleet.
Our dragon half Murrain in her Cleric garb. I know clerics typically have medium armor, but half dragons also get natural armor so, I decided to play with a more light or cloth armor for her. Not just to give her the benefit of her own natural armor but also I felt normal medium armor would.
Got the flat colors done for our Pirate Captain. Wanted to really lean into as much of the Steampunk/Pirate motif as i could without losing the identity of the character. Next thing I'll do shading. I'll probably do a combo of soft and cel shading for each of these.
This took forever. Been a long time since I drew anything draconic and my hand has now gotten the most exercise it's gotten in a long time. You can interpret that however you like lol. The longest part of this?
Her layout is done. Next I begin work on painting her but while I'm painting her, I'm also going to start doing the line art for the next character. Spoiler Alert: The Scalies will love the next one! Once I have finished painting, I will add her character info, backstory and
Rear view done. And quite the view it is! I added some earrings clips and barbell to her ears to add a bit more detail and further enhance her silhouette. Next will be the be the 3/4 of her right side. Then while I'm painting her, I'll also be working on the other characters' design sheets.
