Death comes for all beings without distinction, but malcontents who subvert the cycle of souls exploit this even-handed system. When ordinary psychopomps fail to capture these fugitives, the Narakwangs call in those outside the boundaries of their laws to uphold order. As agents of the Underworld, these rogues hound those that defy the call of death to deliver them their divine punishment.

To accomplish this feat, the Narakwangs unlocked in them the ability to see the ebbs and flows of karmas. They instinctively move alongside the ripples of intent emanating from outlaws and strike first. Being sensitive to the slightest changes in people’s wills paves the road toward suspicion for ordinary mortals.

However you attained this power, you have dedicated your life to prosecuting and executing those that would cheat death.

Accuser

Starting at 3rd level, you become proficient in Insight and Intimidation if you aren’t already. In addition, you gain expertise with these skills, which means your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make with them.

Karmic Mediator

At 3rd level, your movements become one with the ripples and waves of karma pressuring the universe. You can use your Cunning Action to take a Ready action. If you deal Sneak Attack damage from a Readied attack, the target takes psychic damage equal to the roll’s total in place of the original Sneak Attack damage.

Underworld Arbiter

At 9th level, the number of creatures you’ve prosecuted has earned the attention of the Ten Narakwang. You’re gifted with Resistance against Necrotic damage.

In addition, when you deal Sneak Attack damage, you can force the target to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). On a failure, the creature becomes Frightened for 1 minute.

A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

You can use this feature up to a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus until you take a long rest. You regain a use of this feature (up to a maximum equal to your proficiency bonus) when your attack reduces a Frightened creature’s Hit Points to 0.

Underworld Arbiter

Saving Throws. Your techniques require your target to make a saving throw to resist the technique’s effects. The saving throw DC is calculated as follows:

At 13th level, you’ve perfected techniques inspired by the punishments doled out by the task masters of the underworld to deliver preemptive, debilitating strikes against foes. When you use your Bonus Action to Ready an Action, you gain the following benefits:

Black-Thread Whip: If you successfully attack a creature for moving, they must attempt a Dexterity saving throw against your Judgment save DC. On a failure, they fall Prone and their speed is reduced to 0 ft. until the end of their turn.

Incorporeal Movement. The Jeoseung Saja can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. They take 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.

Innate Spellcasting: The Jeoseung Saja’s spell casting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 16). They can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At Will: Locate Creature, Plane Shift (self-only), Spare the Dying, Speak With Dead, Thaumaturgy
2/day each: Dispel Evil and Good, Guardian of Faith, Silence, Spirit Guardians
1/day each: Divine Word, Harm

Soul Sight. The Jeoseung Saja knows if a person they see is lying.

Multiattack. The Jeoseung Saja attacks with Admonishing Palm and Death God’s Eulogy.

Admonishing Palm. The Jeoseung Saja swings a punishing hand at a creature within 5 ft of it, dealing (2d6) necrotic damage.

Death God’s Eulogy. The Jeoseung Saja declares the death of a creature within 60 ft.

Our Warlock subclass: Jeoseung Saja Patron #dnd In honor of K-Pop Demon Hunters winning the Oscars, we're sharing everything Jeoseung Saja-related in Undying Corruption. Welcome to your new life in the bureaucracy of souls! Illust: @oh8.bsky.social @worldformula.bsky.social

Your patron is a Jeoseung Saja, a herald that represents the bureaucracy governing the cycle between life and death. They answer to Princess Bari, the Goddess of Passing, who ordered her servants to bring peaceful passage in death. Without compromise, they pursue souls marked for death to the ends of the world without rest.

You may have had a brush with death that put you into contact with a Jeoseung Saja. Through this fateful encounter, you signed a contract and found employment within the underworld bureaucracy. You may have experienced the terror of undeath and decided to fight it through the system you’ve entered.

Gifted with the Regalia of the Death God, you can mark those destined for death and protect yourself against necrotic energies.

Expanded Spell List

The Jeoseung Saja lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

1st: False Life, Hunter’s Mark
2nd: Pass Without Trace, Silence
3rd: Speak With Dead, Spirit Guardians
4th: Locate Creature, Phantasmal Killer
5th: Flame Strike (necrotic instead of radiant), Reincarnate

Regalia of the Death God

At 1st Level, you can use your bonus action to wear the uniform of the Jeoseung Saja for 1 minute. Your shadow wraps around you and your body no longer emits warmth, but the chilling mist of the graveyard. You gain the following benefits while transformed:

Your base AC equals 13 + your Charisma modifier.
You gain resistance to Necrotic damage.
If the creature is Undead, the damage you deal against them ignores their resistance to necrotic damage.
Once during each of your turns, you can force your quarry targeted by any warlock spell that curses or marks a target to make a Charisma saving throw, and if the saving throw fails, their speed is reduced to 0 until the end of their next turn

You can transform a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Underworldly Vision

At 6th level, you begin to perceive the shapes of mortality among the living. You gain the ability to sense living beings within 30 ft of you and if you can see them and they are in direct line of sight of you, perceive what (if anything) threatens to kill them within the next minute.

In addition, you no longer need to maintain concentration over spells that curse or mark a target.

Princess Bari’s Blessing

At 10th level, the patron deity of the Jeoseung Saja, Princess Bari, acknowledges your deeds and blesses your regalia with a personal mark. You gain advantage on death saving throws.

In addition, while having donned the Regalia of the Death God, you gain the following benefits:
All attacks made against a creature you have cursed or marked have Advantage.
You gain incorporeal movement. You can move through other creatures and objects as if they were Difficult Terrain. You take 1d10 force damage if you end your turn inside a creature or object and are forced out into an adjacent space.

Reaper’s Judgment

At 14th level, the pain your weapons inflict is amplified by the weight of your target’s sins. While donning the Regalia of the Death God, your result when rolling damage dice for weapon attacks or warlock spells that curse or mark a target is always maximized. For example, instead of dealing 1d6 damage to a creature, you deal 6.
