I love turning these thrift store stuffed animals into customized plush pendants that I can bring with me on my bag.

A pale brown teddy bear with longish gradient fur that turns darker at the root. One of their eyes as been replaced with a black fabric "X" patch. The other eye has been replaced with a large black heart button. They have a black & white chevron pattern ribbon around their neck, tied like a scarf. Their "hand" paws has white denim patches sewn onto them, one with the words "Shit is" and the other with the word "complex." One of their feet has black & white zebra print patches on the bottom, and the other has a red love heart embroidered patch. They have a black & white chevron print ribbon lanyard coming out the top of their head, connected to a stainless steel quick link.

I patched them up & gave them some new button eyes. I decided they'd be better loved as a plushie, so I stuffed them & sewed up the bottom. I love the perpetually dubious expression on their face.

Our girl had been through it by the time I found her at Thrift Shoppe. A bedraggled skirt partially glued around her hips & matted fur. I decided I wanted to lean in to the haphazard vibes, do visible stitching, mismatched black & white fabrics, a variety of textures & a chaotic bit of embroidery.

A very scruffy, black Beanie Baby style teddy bear. They have black & white fabric patches inside their ears. One of their black doll eyes has been replaced with a black & white striped button. Their chest has some chaotic white embroidered stripes on their chest, with loose strings hanging down. A purple heart button is sewn onto their chest. The bottoms of their feet are covered in white, textured fabric patches.

They were covered in loose threads, and had some hot glue stuck to their fur when I found them at The Thrift Shoppe, and now they're an internationally renowned clown. I had a lot of fun working on this one, and tried embroidering for the first time in order to add some makeup details.

I don't want to name names (Walm*rt), but this $1 little teddy bear I found at the Thift Shoppe was Not Well Made, and literally falling apart with plastic threads poking out every which way. Now they're an anarchist, and think mutual aide & community are how we keep each other safe.

This has been one of my favorite Friend Shaped Friends I've worked on. I just adore the shape of them, and how textured their fur is. They feel very nice in your hands.
