Not sure where it came from, wasn’t predicted at all, but a lovely soft rain has been sifting down all morning, gently soaking the garden. No complaints here. 🌧️ Happy Saturday!
Feeling a bit sorry for the garden at the moment. Things are very crispy round the edges with no sign of rain in sight. Still the plants soldier on. This hollyhock appeared out of nowhere last year and despite suffering from rust it produces these lovely soft flowers.
Just had a look, it’s so impressive. Believe mine is a tinctoria or possibly a hybrid, much smaller, and contained in a half barrel.

Enjoy watching the bees navigate the prickly teasel flowers. Watching life around the teasels is endlessly entertaining. 🐝

Good Morning! Went on a sunset cruise round the Farne Islands last night. It was so beautiful. We got home very very late though. 🥱 The cruise was lovely and cool and the sights amazing. Expect lots of seabird footage. Hope you have a good day. Happy Friday!

Lola embodying the mood of the house. We’re all tired and sleepy. She loves that cushion. I’ve had it for more than 20 years and it came all the way from my childhood home in South Africa. Obviously we have comfy dog beds but Lola still prefers her special cushion.

03:40. Sudden strong gusts have banged our windows shut and set off a car alarm - not ours, we’ve checked. Could do with more sleep. Listening to the Sleeping Forecast on BBC Sounds. Just as I think I’m nodding off again, the car alarm starts blaring. Hope you are having a better night’s rest.
