I wanted to try my hand at writing and got inspired today :

"I took a walk along the Mediterranean Sea. It was pretty.

I saw seashells, picked some of them up.
They were pretty, with a bunch of different colours. Some lighter, some darker.
I thought about how pretty they must have been when they were still alive.

I saw seashells, put them back in the water.
It's where they come from, it's where they were born, it's where they perished.
I thought about all the lifeforms in the sea, which were born there, which have died there.

I saw seashells, and among the broken ones, one was still alive.
I picked it up, threw it as far away from the shore as possible.
I didn't want it to dry to death.
I don't know if I helped or made it worse.
I tried to help, I only tried to help.

I saw seashells, I also saw crabs.
I tried to crab a couple, they wouldn't let me, got defensive.
It's fine, I get it.
I could've been a fish, I could've been a shark.
I could've been myself, I'm a predator for all they know.
I thought about all the lifeforms that consider me a predator when I'm only trying to help.

How could they know? I'm only me, and I look so different from them.
I can't tell them I want to help.
Lifeforms like me pushed them away, harassed them, killed them.
I'm only trying to help. But I don't know how to help.

I went back on land and dried my feet. I lied down on the sand under the sun.
I thought about all the seashells I'd seen, and all the seashells I'll never get to see.
All the seashells which died so deep in the sea no one will find them.
Whenever I see the sea, I think about seashells.

Thanks to my goated mentor, I got refraction working and a depth-based color system !! All setup in a few lines of code within @godotengine.org !! (sorry for the gif's artefacts)

so far the most of my work has been focused on my water shader as this is the reason why I applied for the mentorship in the first place, here's it's current state -close up-, i'm focusing on refraction today !
