Biologist, mostly plants and bugs. Photos by owlsintowels.org (profile) and a couple of burrowing owls photographed by Wendy Miller (banner)
I mean, there was at least one fancy excommunication hat for the occasion
Playing with nail polish. I call this “Reflecting Pool” and it’s hideous. Might keep it for a while 😆
This is my most recently completed embroidery, I think my younger self would be proud
I have had a bad cold for the entire week that my favorite irises are blooming. I’ve hardly gotten to enjoy them, so other people need to enjoy them with/for me 🌱
Back on my LotR bullshit and still finding fresh relevance. Deep in Appendix F, an apt description of so much political speech these days.
I am convinced that my grumpy 17 yo is too cranky to die. Here he is mad that my partner made a noise in another room. He only approves of noise if he makes it.
I color in the boulder every day. A fresh start each time in Washington DC.
That sounds awesome, looms are so cool. I just spent a lovely evening going through the Museum of Arts et Metiers and the looms were great! Here is a model of an early industrial loom, I’ll need to do a thread of the rest.
Pretty sure I’ve seen this guy at meeting. Really captures the spirit
I was supposed to see an amateur circus performance today but then I saw this cutie scratching at the door of a place for rent. It was too cold to leave him, so that was my day instead. He isn’t microchipped. If you know anyone in Pigtown, Baltimore who is missing this kitten, let me know!
The worst part is that I get blamed for it, as the resident plant biologist. No, the actual worst part is how they glow brighter as you lower the knife.
Made an elephant. The eyes gave my spouse a jump scare, I’ve never been more pleased. 🧶
Here is an orchid being silly. It grows in the National Botanical Garden greenhouses, if you’re ever in the area you can go see it for free on their behind the scenes tour days!
I crocheted a blanket for a friend’s toddler, so she can blend in with the local wildlife 🧶
I’ve got my dander up about work things, only moss sky can save me now.
