Today is Matthew’s birthday, a very tough day for us. But made a bit less tough by the birthday party for him with our debate campers
More from debate camp. My late son Matthew‘s favorite number, for reasons unknown, is 117. We created a 117 Society for all who had done debate camp for at least three years. Some for a decade! Many have returned to be part of our faculty. Over 60! Here they are.
It’s the first day of the full Matthew Ornstein summer debate camp. Nearly 300 public school kids for the free camp, fifth grade through high school, nearly all. Title I schools. Www. Mornstein.org
The shirt I’m wearing today has five colors. The red white and blue are for obvious reasons. The yellow? Representing bone spurs. The green represents grift. Happy fourth!
With my friend, the remarkable and incomparable Andy Young at the Obama presidential library
Finally, something to be happy about. Here at the magnificent Obama Library for its grand opening.
Just came across this picture of me deep in conversation with Barney Frank. He will be so missed. May his memory be a blessing.
Daryl Davis, who played with Chuck Berry, along with the incomparable Nils Lofgren, of Springsteen’s E St. Band and Neil Young & Crazy Horse, rocking out at Jamie Raskin‘s birthday celebration. Amazing.
Delighted that our powerful and inspirational documentary on urban debate will be showcased at the wonderful St. Louis Film Festival. If you are in the area, don’t miss it!
Very maddening, blue sky must’ve updated in some fashion and won’t let me share directly my Wordle results. So I have to jerry rig, Copying what I have shared on the site I will not name
Not sure why blue sky would not let me share my Wordle results today. I tried multiple ways.
