My latest @wizkidsheroclix.bsky.social review on @afinsider.bsky.social returns to Batman's home with DC's Fight for Gotham City! Lots of Gotham heroes and villains plus other interesting DC characters www.actionfigureinsider.com/heroclix-fig...
Who's hungry? 🧟♀️🐔 And yes, this is a real sign I passed by today in Koreatown, Los Angeles
Just found out it's National Karen Day! While the name may have some rather... unfriendly connotations these days, it's been used for a bunch of interesting characters over the years, and it's been the name of some tremendous athletes too. Tell any Karens you know that their name is cool!
I got an advance look at a Vault Booster from the upcoming DC HeroClix Fight for Gotham City set, and it's Amazon-themed! Wonder Woman is always awesome, I was a big fan of Artemis in the Red Hood and the Outlaws book, & Pegasus gave me a chance to talk about Greek mythology. Perfect booster for me!
When my favorite 3D print artist uploaded a Buck Rogers Thunderfighter, I immediately knew how I wanted to print it: in a color scheme inspired by the 1979 Corgi Starfighter toy! I'm lucky enough to have two of the little ones in really good condition, along with a couple other original toys
With the recent release of a new book in the Black Company series by Glen Cook I went back and re-read the previous three. I didn't remember this reference to the Litany Against Fear from Dune in Soldiers Live!
I've been seeing some posts about naming babies born (or conceived!) on Star Trek's First Contact Day, and for inspiration you can check out the name entry in Naming Your Little Geek! 🖖
Had a wonderful night in Hollywood with my wife to celebrate my birthday: a vegan bacon cheeseburger at Doomie's Home Cookin', then A Clockwork Orange at @egyptianla.bsky.social! One of my favorite restaurants, favorite movies at my favorite theater, with my favorite person in the world 💖
The 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games may be over, but you can read about thousands of past champions and medalists in Naming Your Little All-Star and name kids (or other things) after them! Available now wherever books are sold 📙 #booksky
Oh no! Hopefully you can catch a break, find an opportunity to de-stress somehow even if it's for a short time. Here's a picture of my silly cat, maybe that will help
I love this shirt I got from my son's middle school STEM program because it reminds me so much of classic Metal Men designs
Some of the books I brought to share with my students for Read Across America Day - lots of favorites and interesting things to discuss. Bummed that I couldn't find my copy of A Wizard of Earthsea at the last minute!
After a camping trip my son really wanted McDonald's (I guess taste skips a generation 😜), so I figured I'd celebrate the start of my birthday month with one of these green monstrosities 🍀
Oh, that's funny! Yeah, the ships can literally deploy arms and grapple each other in hand-to-hand combat. It's... pretty silly
I don't know if this is up your alley, but I'm pretty proud of my just-released second fun, themed baby naming book, Naming Your Little All-Star! As a nerd, though, you may like my first one more, Naming Your Little Geek 🖖 linktr.ee/namingyourli...
I feel like a Sentinel from X-Men comics whenever I find a carrot like this. MUTANT DETECTED, MUTANT DETECTED
Had an incredible night taking my family to see Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, with the incomparable @georgetakei.bsky.social! The man is a gem and has so many incredible stories, and it was wonderful seeing one of my favorite movies on the big screen
The best toy line ever! I recently found someone had scanned a bunch of the figures so I've been 3D printing them to go along with my originals
For your consideration, a very silly orange cat who definitely heard something* in the other room. *Nothing was in the other room
A few more pics of the Warhammer Open box of fun
Absolute highlight of the shopping was this exclusive Warhammer Open box of goodies including objective markers, metal bookmark and dice, measuring tool, dice bag, tons of tokens, stickers, journal, pen, and more!
On Saturday my son and I drove two hours to the Palm Springs Warhammer Open, and we had a great time! Free to enter, walk around, and look at everything, even if we weren't there to play. Met up with a couple friends of mine who were there competing, did some shopping, and had a really fun day!
Available now everywhere books are sold! linktr.ee/namingyourli...
Got my first "industry" review of Naming Your Little All-Star from the folks at Midwest Book Review! #booksky
It's book release day!!! 🥳📙 🥳📙 Get Naming Your Little All-Star everywhere books are sold, spread the word, and ask your local book store AND LIBRARY to carry it. Everything helps! linktr.ee/namingyourli... @familiusbooks.bsky.social #booksky
From the copyright page of my upcoming (second!) themed baby naming book Naming Your Little All-Star: No artificial intelligence was used in the writing or production of this book. It won't matter to some, but I think it's important. #booksky
Nice ride! Reminds me of my Mustang that I loved for a few blissful years before I needed to trade it in and get a family car when we had our kids.
Homer's Odysseus accesses the Underworld via a cave & he slaughters animals to fill up a big pit of blood; many ghosts show up but only the ones allowed to drink the blood get enough "spirit" to speak. Here it looks like we've got a desolate wasteland with animated dead rising up from the ground 🤷
