Looking for a case for my new phone, I'm no expert on this stuff but I think the scale could be off here??????

I'm a little surprised I haven't seen anyone on my timeline mention Finnie, the Commonwealth Games mascot. I've been in Glasgow a few times this past week and seen her on a bunch of signs, it's a very charming design!

I know the title for this piece is literally what it describes but also it goes so fucking hard.

Went to the National Gallery in Edinburgh today and remembered my favourite painting in here, 'Callum', if only for the reason why it's here:

Callum, a Dandie Dinmont terrier, stands on all fours, his tail poking up, on what appears to be some hard ground surrounded with a scattering of hay. In front of him is a dead rat, which he presumably caught and is proudly displaying to his master.

The Dandie Dinmont terrier originated in the Scottish Borders. It is named after a farmer in 'Guy Mannering' (1815), a Walter Scott novel. Scott had Dandie Dinmonts called Ginger and Spice. In 1919 James Cowan Smith (1839 - 1919) bequeathed £52,257 (over £2 million today) to buy art for this gallery. He had one condition: the portrait of his beloved Callum must remain on permanent display. Thanks to his bequest, paintings by Velazquez, Goya, Roeburn, Constable, Sargent and Mackintosh joined the collection.
