Forgot I snapped this one earlier before splitting it in two & shaping I think my dough was sad

Took class at The Kings Roost (available in person or on-line). You mill your own grain to start your dough. You’re sent home w/ in progress dough & some extra starter for future loaves. I’ve been purchasing whole grain milled flour from them. Here’s the recipe for both bread & starter maintenance

New leaf day Annndddd I think this is the first split leaf on a plant I was starting to doubt was actually a monstera Please ignore the larger mess but these are the 3 plants living on a high shelf in the bedroom currently & one bunch of fake flowers

A photograph of a mediocre looking Monstera with at least one happy shiny new green leaf. This new leaf seems to have a small tear in it as is common in Monstera leaves. All the rest of the leaves on the plant are fairly dark green, a little bit dusty, and a full heart shape with no tears. For the record, I’m not sure what the correct term for is, but when I say tear, I mean the space created in a Monstera leaf that is not the full shape.

I may not have my ducks in a row but I seem to have my cats in a line

Proof of bread Each loaf is 1/3 of the dough, baby sized. Having fun sharing the mini loaves. Might be my preferred size 2 were Dutch oven & 1 on enamel open pan. Dough definitely over proofed…in the best way. so much sourdough tang Still don’t think I have the temperature/bake perfected

I’d still recommend caution AWMD has an advisory for a pretty big area until tomorrow at 10 am The fire was burning some pretty toxic stuff & the smoke hit the upper atmosphere & traveled quite a distance today

This is Atwater village looking due south. Smoke is high enough that it’s hard to detect except at the horizon. Remember, just because you can’t see it or smell it, does not mean the air is necessarily safe to breathe

Unexpected in this experiment, the ink saturated paper to create double sided exposure. Thinking to make most of these into sketchbooks instead of cards. This batch, I loosely aligned items on 2nd printing to look like backside of the front print. Image shows back of above prints

The image shows the backside printing of the previous posts prints. These images are lighter in color, but show very similar but slightly different arrangement of object objects from previous post.

Made more things Been experimenting w/ Turmeric sun printing. these are set with sprayed baking soda solution, instead of borax, so you lose the yellow color I like the idea that I grew these plants, made the ink & therefore are completely “original” but also having fun with other objects

The original turmeric Inc. is not applied to the paper very cleanly or evenly creating a messy framework. The turmeric ink is set with sprayed baking soda, which creates a sepia tone, due to the spraying of the baking soda there are also patchy gray colors on some images . The images have almost an old Timey historical feel . From top left to right across the rows, first two prints are of mallow flowers, still on the branch. Second row shows a print of an ornate glass sample and lines of clothes pins.. final row is an abstract image of strips of paper and rubber bands, and the final card is another mallow branch with flowers and buds
