The tapestry winds down as Odysseus unleashes his arrow… A relatively spare thread of the sequence - but exciting to draw. My pinned post has another scene from it and was the first spread i drew of the whole book.

The arrows and glyphs in question were on a page like this… I made that connection - visually led to mentally, the connection is now in me, but it only happened because I was drawing on paper…

When I first encountered this book, I was so excited to apply it to comics for my students. I can't say they've always been as excited about it as I have, but I also see them using grids in really interesting ways in the following weeks, so I know it all sinks in...

As much as each page start to finish gets you to reconceptualize what life is, really what life means, @philipcball.bsky.social’s book also sent me reading many other works on the subject, perhaps most significantly for what I’m after, Nick Lane’s. All make you look at where we came from in new ways
