Visiting the Alumni Authors section in my old school. Not entirely different from looking oneself up on Google.
I thought it must be. I don't think they bothered to make Mr. Holbrook look very much like him.
Beda doesn’t usually like other dogs at all, but he adores Ginger, who is staying in my guest house with her human.
If Pascal were a wagering pup: “The server just brought me a treat. So the reasonable thing to do is to lie looking toward the kitchen, from which more treats might come.”
Nineteen years ago this evening, on the feast of St. Bede, at Trinity Church in Fort Wayne, the Rt. Rev. Edward S. Little, II, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Indiana, acting on behalf of the Bishop of Louisiana, ordained me a presbyter in Christ's one, holy, catholic and apostolic church.
Ha! (My mother knitted this little number back when I was in grad school.)
After attending the memorial for the late Lord Great Steward, I almost had to bring the Crown (below, w/ me, 40 years ago) home through Dulles security. I was able to convince the new LGS that "Guardian of the Crown" in my style & title didn't mean I actually had to have the object in my home.
Share the first picture on your phone: here, the old N scale layout I was given by the late COL Robert Massie.
Probably not the pose for the front of the next Christmas card, but he is cute.
Half a century ago, or so, I appeared in LCD in a church “chancel drama” production, wh. I believe fell—indeed, plunged headlong—into the second category. The only bit I remember is the repetition of “every least twig was covered with ice.”
Obviously can’t walk into Amazon & sign a pile of these, but will be happy to sign and send out one of these handsome bookplates on request. [Replacing an earlier post because heaven forbid we have an edit button.]
3) (ta-da) the 1000+ page pb omnibus edition of my three fantasy novels, _Treble Magicke_, is now available from B&N, Amazon, & local bookstores. ISBN 979-8991968256. 2/3
+Lord Williams of Oystermouth being insightful. (No idea why his publisher has only part of his style and title.)
Boneless skinless chicken thighs browned and then cooked in a sauce of hard apple cider, molasses, rhubarb, onion, garlic and thyme.
Arrived today from the printer; subtitle is spelled correctly on the spine, which is a step up from the earlier proof copy. Haven’t checked the innards yet. Doors across this great republic are waiting to be stopped, and at 1032 pages, this little beauty should do it!
Having been a student at his university and a teacher at his school, I have also been often reminded of Harry Elkins Widener, among those who were lost. (His mother gave his books and a magnificent new library building to Harvard & two classroom buildings to The Hill.)
Posting today, when I remember to do so, rather than tomorrow, when I might not. The grave in our local cemetery of RMS Titanic survivor August Wennerström. www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/titanic-surv...
So, I am hoping this is either (a) optimally, Lancashire hot pot or (b) at least something edible, because it’s 8 pm and I don’t want to heat up pizza.
Not a brilliant job on this one but at least the bottom wasn’t soggy.
