Ok...after slicing the bottom of my foot and about a week and a half of letting it heal, I'm back at it. The hussy trainer doesn't know what to do. She's as out of practice as I am. She just kind of wandered around looking confused. 😆😆

TONIGHT: A fun event, held in solemn memory of Harbe Nagi. Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Company on Loudon Road is holding the event tonight, and organizers said proceeds will benefit the Autism Society of the Greater Hudson Region. Qamaria is one of the Yemeni coffee shops that have recently opened in Latham with a focus on creating a family-friendly community gathering space. 🧩

My lemonade wasn't yellow enough, but it's still good. Gonna have to get pineapple/mango juice next time.

I've seen a lot of brilliantly made craft cocktails dedicated to the Reflecting Pool this past weekend, and I thought, something was missing. Something wasn't right.

They didn't quite capture the level of class and sophistication that our Reflecting Pool currently has, so here's my version.😁

To start, line your glass with a blue fruit roll up.

Then you're going to need:
2 oz rum
4 oz juice that is kinda yellow (pineapple, mango, orange, lemonade, whatever you like)
1 oz blue curacao (you can adjust for color)
Garnish with lime zest

The yellow and blue liquids make a lovely shade of algae and the rum eventually melts the blue fruit roll up, which is, IMHO, the best part.

UPDATE: Police say the preliminary findings of the autopsy have determined Harbe's cause of death was drowning and the manner of his death is listed as accidental.
Police say they are still working to figure out the exact timeline, but they say it appears that the little boy had been in the pool for a prolonged period of time. They don't know when he went into the water.
"The pool had safety measures in place, including a metal fence surrounding it. The pool itself was experiencing some filtration issues and the homeowner was actively working to resolve them," said Menands Police Lieutenant Kevin Schwebke.
He said the pool had been checked multiple times during the search.
"Unfortunately, due to its condition and chemical content, a false bottom impression was observed, leaving all inspectors to believe the pool was unoccupied and did not require a dive team for inspection. At this time, we do not have any indication that there was any foul play involved in the death of Harbe."

A news conference is scheduled for today at 1pm about the Harbe Nagi investigation. He’s the 7-year-old boy with autism who was found dead yesterday after a two-day search for him in Menands.

The pool owner is suspect to me...

A sad update to the search for 7-year-old Harbe Nagi who had been missing since Sunday afternoon. He disappeared from a family party on Park Drive in Menands.
His family says his body was found this morning.
One investigator close to the case said he was found in a pool two doors away on Park Drive, and that that pool had been searched multiple times since Sunday afternoon, and looked at as recently as last night at 9:30.
Police remain on the scene and we’ve seen evidence technicians and at least one diver.
This is certainly not the ending to the search that anyone was hoping for.
