Oblivion Sound Lab
@oblivionsoundlab
Audio plugins and synthesizer soundbanks.
I have a summer sale going on until 30 July. Up to 40% off soundsets and plugins. Music: I-SAAC - Apex Biotech
It's probably about time that I switch away from Chrome anyway.
Recently Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books were $1.99 each for Kindle. I was very tempted, but if I’m going to do this I want to do it properly. My latest acquisition arrived today. 6 down, 35 to go…
My new soundbank for Serum 2 is available now. Biotech includes 92 dystopian sci-fi and cyberpunk patches. oblivionsoundlab.com/product/biot...
I have a cheeky Easter sale going on. 40% off everything until April 10. oblivionsoundlab.com/product-cate... Music: Flowstate by Dream Fiend made with Dreamstate soundbank
Did the art for my next soundset. It's called BROYEAH or BIOYECK or 31YECH or BIOTECH or something.
This arrived in the post today. A pocket sized book by @colenowicki.com all about the social impact of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Cole puts out an excellent skate-focussed newsletter called Simple Magic, which is how I discovered his writing.
We’re a couple of episodes into Pantheon. Not 100% on board yet, but it seems like a very good high-concept hacker/sci-fi story.
Sample question for a remote music class my daughter is studying at high school. The audio filenames kind of give the answers away!
New books! Rebel Girl: My Life as a Feminist Punk by Kathleen Hanna and I Am The Law: How Judge Dredd Predicted Our Future by @molcher.bsky.social
This popped up on my Tubi homepage too. The Grim and the Dark is a documentary about wargaming and grimdark art. The score by Eric Michael Robertson captured my attention too. trademarkfilms.com/films/d121a6...
Although I am stridently opposed to generative AI, AI coding assistants are actually very good at auto-completing code. Prediction is what LLMs do best, right? So I find it amusing that when I type "HELLO", the AI assistant thinks I want to write "HELLOOOOOOOOO", presumably in a sarcastic voice.
Konstantin Klim has a new soundset out, for Repro-5, has a '90s electronica vibe (Boards of Canada and their ilk), lots of lovely textures. He also has 50% off all his other products. konstantinklem.pro/works/memori...
Finally ticked Searching For Sugar Man off my watchlist. Total soul food.
Something I got for Christmas. A very unlicensed lego “Break Bad” RV. Not sure why the door opens upwards, but in other respects it seems quite accurate. Even has cooking apparatus inside.
Wait, so people were predicting that a Terminator 2 scenario was going to happen NEXT YEAR?! Delusional. It’s a Reddit regurgitation machine.
My daughter has sunk countless hours into a rougue-like deck building video game called Monster Train, but it has paid off! She recently took part in an official competition and placed in the top 10 players globally. The prize was a couple of oversized cards signed by the developers. Pretty cool!
Latest additions to my little CD collection. I owned Angel Dust back in the day but somewhere along the way it went walkabout.
I've got a Black Friday sale going on! Up to 40% off everything in the store, plus multi-buy discounts. oblivionsoundlab.com/product-cate... Music in the video is by the one and only @killstarr.bsky.social made with our Dreamstate soundset
Letterboxd is showing some people (not me sadly 😞) this CAPTCHA challenge when they log Bugonia. Classic.
Saw Bugonia last night, and was curious about the memorable typeface used in the film's branding. As an ex-pat New Zealander I was pleasantly surprised to discover that is was designed by Samoan/New Zealand designer Joseph Churchward: collections.tepapa.govt.nz/object/91526...
