“I’m tired because my wife just gave birth” is quite a statement. “The home and land were most recently valued at more than $18 million.” What this woman needs is a divorce.
The wind blowing through Boston right now is an outflow boundary from a storm complex over Essex county. @universalhub.com
Sunset crossing the Charles … at least where the smoke has thinned. @universalhub.com
Why does the 66/86 now use university road instead of Bennett alley which both delays the bus at a light and creates more pedestrian conflicts?
This kids’ book lazily uses stock photos of transportation. The first image is of some weird unmarked airplane freighter? Not even sure the type, a 319 perhaps? And then a train so devoid of markings I can’t figure out where it is! Looks Asian. It has English on the platform. HK?
The other thing is … there were some hot years "when you were a kid" too. The 1988 heat wave was the worst. People died. www.upi.com/Archives/198... Maybe that's a bad thing? (# of days >=90˚ at MSP …)
The snapshot on Google Maps … yeah I could see that being 25 minutes of traffic. Too bad Montreal doesn't have an exurban airport with plenty of pickup/dropoff capacity.
I think the 747 gets stuck in traffic with some regularity getting into the airport (with an n = 1 I've seen people getting out of cabs and running up the ramp here). If there's some secret entrance I could see it saving "up to" 25 minutes. But ofc why not let the 747 use it, too?
Hey younger people who don't want to be killed while biking: Talk to your parents. THEY are the problem. Tell them if they want to drive everywhere, fine, but they need to STFU about bike lanes. mass.streetsblog.org/2026/04/09/i...
Very cool! Some bugs/data artifacts, like the Harlem line being red and the Hudson and New Haven lines … not. And which cities get red dots (Tucson and Waco?)
Just for kicks I’m asking Gemini (they make us use Google Sheets) to do conditional formatting for me. It’s been spinning for several minutes and I’m pretty sure it’s about to reticulate some splines.
There are two aircraft with banners circling Fenway for the concert tonight. @universalhub.com
Oh god, @bostonglobe.com, this is a bad chart. It's showing the cumulative wins/losses over time, but doesn't show that several years the team was better with Brown. Here's a chart with the actual data that makes sense.
