this was a fun one. RxBf3 then wins the knight on e4 with whites king still stuck with lots of attacking options. he resigned right before i could play h5++

a chess board. black has just captured whites bishop on f3 leaving his knight on e4 defenseless

a chess board from the same game a few moves later. white has advanced his pawn to h4 to stop Qg5++, but he will still lose to h5++

there was a knight on g5 and this was the only way i could stop checkmate on either Qh7 or disaster on Qxf7. engine says this position is dead even

a chessboard. black has just QxNg5 stopping checkmate. after Bxg5 white’s knight is hanging. in the game white responded with Qg4 blundering his queen and resigned immediately lol

a brilliant castle?! what a weird game

it’s a chessboard but the position is quite unusual. blacks king has been chased all the way down to the 3rd rank. chess.com awarded a brilliancy for castling, which feels bizarre. whites dark bishop can be captured by the king but since he’s so out in the open he is very vulnerable, especially to the newly connected rooks. one of blacks rooks is hanging too

it’s a chessboard. whites knight has moved to e5, baiting black to take with the d pawn which would blunder his queen immediately. instead he took with his bishop, which was then recaptured by whites rook, still baiting the d pawn. he didn’t take the bait but instead lost a key defender and tempo

this guy had me on the ropes for like a dozen moves but this turned the game around 😎

Qxc3+ basically forced Kxc3, then after a1Q+ i was able to use my rook and bishop to chase whites king away from his rook so i could capture it

the system was too stingy to award a !! to this, i guess because it’s not really a sacrifice but it didn’t award one to Rh1+ either. still cool though

white offered a queen trade with Qh5->f4 but instead i had Bg3+ discovered check leads to mate in 4

this one’s not as exciting. a kinda utilitarian set up for discovered check. did the trick though

blacks knight on c4 is threatening to fork the queen and rook by capturing the bishop on a3. won’t do him much good because after Nxa3, Q can go to d1 or e2 and then move to the h file and checkmate soon follows. in the game though he blundered by pushing the g pawn which allowed Bxg6+, Kg7, Rh7+, Kg8, Bxf7++

it’s a chessboard. white’s knight has captured a pawn on g5 which is protected by the h pawn, but after hxg5, Bxg5 pinning blacks knight to the queen. black has castled kingside so now that the g and h files are open he is exposed to a variety of mating attacks

it’s a chess board. Qxf4 captured a knight that was protected by the pawn on e5, but if white exf4 then Bxf6. in this game black then Rxf6 which left them open to Re7+ followed by an unstoppable Rh8++

it’s a chess board showing a queen sacrifice. after Nb7, black’s queen and rook were forked, but Qxa3!! because if white’s rook moves off the back rank Rd1++ if instead Nxd8, Qxa1+ and white quickly loses anyway
