Plot

A mix of future tech and gothic vampire story, in the cyberpunk style, BloodNet puts the player into the role of a man named Ransom Stark, who must battle a vampire named Abraham Van Helsing that is attempting world domination and save both humanity and the cybernet. Ransom Stark was bitten by the aforementioned vampire, but is able to fight off the infection with the help of a computer grafted onto his brain stem. He must embark on a journey to defeat the head vampire, Dracula, to stop the infection.[5]

He is on the wall!

I have gone through some unfortunate looks in my time tbh

I remembered I have a laminator

A plot like "post-apocalyptic casino heist" above all deserves a film that is fun. For the first five minutes or so, Army of the Dead feels like it understands that, but it quickly devolves in an overlong slog of grim people doing stupid things inside buildings, all the while perpetrating the most egregious Netflix style of exposition. I am not necessarily a hater of an idiot plot, but crucially, an idiot plot should rely on the ~characters~ being idiots, not assuming the ~audience~ is.

At 2,5 hours, this film is twice as long as it needed to be. Also, anyone who unironically uses The Cranberries' "Zombie" to soundtrack a zombie film should be put in jail, both because it's crass to use a song about the Troubles for that and because it's so Route One you should step back and pick any other song instead.

The action scenes are edited in that choppy jumpcut way that a lot of badly choreographed films are now, and it sometimes feels like the cameras are allergic to being in focus. About once every ten minutes, someone will remember this film is supposed to be funny and make some sort of joke (and to be fair, I did laugh several times), but then it's right back to the joyless plodding.

I hated the ending, and when Snyder then served up another ending, I hated that ending more. I hated the amount of "tell, don't show" on display (or rather, not on display) here. I hated how some really good actors were fully wasted on this. I hated how Vegas was relegated to being basically only a visual backdrop for a film that could take place anywhere else, and I also hate Vegas. That last one is not this film's fault, to be fair, but it is a monument to hubris and greed that should not exist in a fair world. But it does exist, so if you're gonna set a film like this in it, at least do more with that than throwing in a single (admittedly welcome) tiger.

My time is not that precious and I'm generally happy to waste it, but I definitely could have wasted it better than this.
