Strait-laced in the 90s, because other people had major control of my life, particularly when overseas. Closest to the kangaroo tail. Album: REM "Out of Time." The song "Half a World Away" seemed to perfectly describe my situation regarding my gf in San Diego.
She was the advertising face of Australian Rugby League football with (mostly) this song during 1991-1992 when I lived in Australia. And she was damn good at it. No sexier diva ever stepped onto an Aussie rugby pitch. (In the colors of my favorite side, the Balmain Tigers).
The Go-Go's at The Milestone, Charlotte, NC, summer 1981. Old stomping ground. Even with an album that went to number one they were playing this place. Early punk rock.
We went to a march after Roe v. Wade got overturned by the Supreme Court and I had one that said "I'm with her" with arrows going everywhere, and that's generally how I feel. The government (or men in general) have no place telling a woman what to do with her body. (Me and my wife)
Our dog Lily. Rescued from the streets of a Montana town at age one (approximately) with a broken hip, probably from a kick. A sweet, sweet dog, but so fiercely protective of me and Colleen (and our cat) that it's a problem with visitors. Working on training.
Fender Stratocaster "roasted maple" Stratocaster headstock. Serial number starts with "MX." Five years old? Fitted to a Fender "Eric Johnson" Strat body with some upgrades. Where it says "Original Contour Body" it used to say something about patents in the 1950s and 1960s.
"Tulsi's leaving?" - Short-List-For-Life Candidate Tim Scott. Not a DEI Candidate, just an average black guy who worships trump. Unencumbered with any academic achievement, administrative skills, or executive background, he just loves trump. cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thu...
I am fortunate enough to have a sunny plot but too much uv at my altitude so I grow them in a hoop house with shade cloth, like this. Also protects against wind/hail in summer which we get more and more of due to climate change. Excited to get going this year.
Stetson Crushable. Pops back into shape after being rolled and stored in a backpack. Destroys rain and cold in the vicinity of your noggin. No need to thank me.
Out on the e-bike today, snapped a few photos. It's funny how the mountains you've looked at for years seem like old friends when you're out on a very quiet dirt road on a bike.
Post something random or yall will have a crappy April. Checklist for small western town: liquor store, bar, casino, saloon, hardware store.
I don't fight with the dandelions in my yard in Montana. My neighbors on my rural lane don't either. Matter of fact, I think of the full moon in May as the "Moon of the Yellow Flowers." Speaking of yellow flowers, the forsythia is the first to show in late March. Birdbuddy view.
So the Birdbuddy is asking me to verify that that's Atticus and Jimbob. Dude, I believe that's your job. That's why we have this thing hooked up to A.I. Personally, I think that red one is probably Jimbob's first cousin.
Birdbuddy getting hammered by Atticus, the House Finch. Tell the Western tanagers that it’s there, dude. See you tomorrow.
Ronald Acuña Jr. celebrating because somebody else did something good, the way baseball is supposed to be. If you're an Atlanta Braves fan you're hoping Venezuela wins, and this guy doesn't hurt himself celebrating.
I should mention that this is our most budget-friendly production proposal so far.
This bookstore in Alberton, Montana claims to have 100,000 volumes. Been a while since I've been in there but they make heavy use of the basement. Gi-normous selection of old westerns and western-interest books. Tiny town, known as white-water rafting portal.
Another nice sunset, this time from our kitchen window. Inspired to wash dishes, now. Plus it’s my turn.
Sunset lighting up the west-northwest. Those mountains should have a lot more snowpack this time of year but this is what they have this time around.
Baked two loaves of bread and did a Beyond Burger meatloaf with meatloaf sauce from the local Mennonite store. After a season of pumpkin-spiced nog peppermint chocolatey confectionary junk food, this is THE WAY.
The trusty Puckipuppy should do the job. Yes I can work the "throttle" and handlebars with one hand and fire the bear spray with the other. Already operationally tested this on a logging road in the Montana wilderness.
A soldering iron? You need one of those (relatively) new cordless multi tools for that. The Dewalt one is pretty sweet.
