Surprisingly, some people need movies that aren't trauma horror, Disney rehashes, or cape shit. This is an actual adult comedy driven purely by dialogue. There's 1000 little conversational tics that deliver laughs without a ton of big gags. Everyone delivers.

Exactly what its meant to be as an Evil Dead movie, exceedingly gory and bleak with some dumb humor mixed in-between. Some inventively awful stuff with just enough lore to keep building out for another sequel in a year or two. There is some dog violence. Stay for the post-credits.

Enjoyed 90% of this. Ultimately I think they leave a lot on the table with the concept but it prioritizes the emotional stakes over the horror element. Australia is delivering a lot great horror. You can't have your main character be named "Naim" through. Pointlessly distracting the whole movie.

This is exactly as advertised. The plot is secondary to non-stop fight choreo showcases. There's so many cool transitions to rip off if anyone still does pro wrestling. Yayan Ruhian is quickly become a favorite action movie villain. The only downside is excess, it needs to be 15 minutes shorter.

Love a Bonnie & Clyde story. Easy chemistry from the leads even as the plot goes pretty predictably. Good run this year from Samara Weaving.

Had to come back for a home watch after the theater trip was a little too cozy and dozy. Turns out I only missed a few minutes. Still enjoyed it on second watch though there's lots of overlap with Caveat and Oddity. I'd put it right in McCarthy-Middle behind Oddity. Adam Scott is a great jerk.

Not a bad word to say. It's wonderful to get something so fully committed to being abstract made into a big film. I found it oddly cozy with the slow pace and perpetual lighting buzz. I trust Renate Reinsve in anything. Loved the 90s aesthetic and the final chase. A win for liminal YouTube horror.

I thought it was perfectly cromulent. Not up to the level of Autopsy Of Jane Doe or The Last Voyage of The Demeter. Jump-scare heavy, I would have liked a little more development of The Passenger and the concept. The leads do their job, it just lacks a dynamic. Fine for streaming.

Absolutely adored this, pun intended. An Isabelle Adjani/MIa Goth kind of unhinged lover performance by Inde Navarrette. Humorous while unsettling and god help you if you recognize some of these moments from your own relationships. Very efficient distribution of gore. A simple idea masterfully done.

Samara Weaving has nailed down the ultraviolent chase around the house genre. Everyone is great here as expected, even butter coffee icon Keith Jardine (!). A straight up crime and relationship black comedy. Good for an afternoon at the theater or a night at home.

Had no expectations going in and ended up enjoying it. Anne Hathaway and Michaela Cole have a great dynamic and I'm a sucker for movies with stageplay vibes. Moves very slow and low for long stretches, but I thought the payoff was worth it. Really impressed by the physicality of the dance sequence.
