Sunday 🔥 ride 🚴♂️ down the Santa Cruz and up the Rillito to Ren Coffeehouse. 37 miles. Saw the edge of a raging flash flood moving north of Speedway. Must have been storms down south last night. Saw a big Horny Toad. 🦎 Took my phone out of my jersey at the end, it said it had shut down due to heat 😕
🔥Hot and muggy 30 mile 🚴♂️ ride early this morning. Desert Survivors to Christina-Taylor-Green park. The Santa Cruz had a nice flow of Hot 🔥 Chocolate.😀 Must have been storms farther south. Saw a Squadron of at least 15 Javelina. Stopped for an iced tea and Poblano scone at Decibel.

I collect “Naval Covers” which are envelopes canceled on naval ships. Many times there is unique art for an event or holiday. Here are two from the USS Arizona (BB-39) canceled on board on July 4th 1935 and 1937. #4thofjuly #ussarizona #arizona.
37 mile 🔥 🚴♂️ ride this morning. Was going to go farther but the heat 🌞 changed my mind. Saw the 3rd King Snake of the season, had 2 Cicada collisions and stopped at the Rillito Market to get a bag of coffee beans. Please take the heat seriously. A hiked died not far from my house recently. #cycling
Tippi and I watched “Can Dogs Talk” on PBS Nova last night. Very interesting. I think Dogs can do just about anything if there are snacks involved.🐾 😋 #westie
Tucson (UNESCO City of Gastronomy) has great Mexican food. 🌶️ 😀 The farther south you go the better it gets! Finally got a chance to have lunch at Cora’s Cafe. Had a Birria Chimichanga enchilada style. 😋 located on Park between Ajo and Irvington. #tucson

Tippi loves sunbathing. It’s 107. 🔥 She only gets 2 minutes laying on the concrete in the sun before she gets called back in. 🐾 She’s pretty cooperative..since there’s snacks involved. 😀
I looked outside this morning and this alien had appeared in the yard. I’ve had this cactus (forgot the type) for 5 years..first bloom. 😀 I hadn’t noticed it was going to bloom. It must have happened quickly. #tucson
Since it’s #throwbackthursday I went 15 years back in my camera roll and found Cosmo our #yorkie fighting the water monster on a hot summer day in our yard in Las Vegas.
Saguaros are very common here. I read that there are more Saguaros in our area than people. They are also very culturally significant. The Tohono O’oham people harvest the fruit in the summer and their New Year starts at harvest time. That one was at risk due to damage that weakened the lower part.
Rode 🚴♂️ a longer post storm route today. Started at 0530 😐 N on the Santa Cruz, then up the Rillito to Ren ☕️ 41 miles. Very cool at the start and flowing water in the Santa Cruz which is nice to see. Unfortunately there was a large downed 🌵 😢 at 1st Ave. Photo is from Google Earth. #cycling #tucson
