If it ain’t open and decentralized, I’m looking for an alternative that is. Formerly @saltedlolly on the bad place. Creator of @diginode.tools
2/ Checking the Index 01 specs on the website, it said specifically that showering with the ring is possible. Presumably the risk of getting soap in the mic hole is something that Pebble watches are vulnerable to as well, no? Those are okay for showering. Is the ring more vulnerable ?
@ericmigi.com Hey Eric, I don’t have my ring yet but was poking around in the Pebble app and discovered the onboarding screen where I noticed it specifically says it is not recommended to shower with it. This is a use case I have been really interested in. Is this correct?
My Pebble Time 2 finally arrived! (It only took 10 years!) I guess good things DO come to those who wait. 😁
I am big fan of the 'US Government Contributions' labeller - it adds labels to the accounts of members of government so there is full transparency on who they are beholden to. bsky.app/profile/did:...
Who wants to tell them that they are already using a centralized propaganda platform…?
I just finished the First Law trilogy by @joeabercrombie.com. These books were a blast! Such an incredibly final act too, where even plot threads you'd forgotten about were wrapped up satisfyingly. I can't believe it took me till now to read them. Perfection! Next up "Best Served Cold". #booksky 💙📚
It’s great to see a PR bringing iOS Shortcuts support to the #Pebble mobile app. Adding notifications & timeline pins to your #smartwatch via #Shortcuts has so many potential use cases. I love how the community are all working together for the benefit of Pebble users. github.com/coredevices/... 🪨⌚️
2/ I previously read "Breaking Twitter" by @benmezrich.bsky.social so already had some familiarity with events. BT was a good read, with much of the story focusing on Esther Crawford. Like Mezrich's other books, it dramatized events for narrative effect, so it felt like reading a movie in book form.
I just finished "Character Limit: How Elon Musk Destroyed Twitter" by @kateconger.com & @rmac.bsky.social. It's definitely one of the best books I've read this year. It was fascinating to get the perspective of current and former Tweeps as the company was eviscerated by Musk and his Goons. #booksky
I finally read “Careless People” by Sarah Wynn-Williams. I already knew Facebook was damaging to society but it’s so much worse than I ever realised. This book is simply essential reading/listening. It’s also a perfect companion book to “The Chaos Machine” by @max-fisher.bsky.social Read both! 💙📚 🎧📚
I’ve been reporting and blocking a bunch of AI bots promoting something called byitts.com. Anyone else seeing them? If so, please help get them removed by doing the same.
I’m currently two thirds through “Breaking Twitter” by Ben Mezrich and I can’t stop thinking what a train wreck it is going to be if Elon guts the federal government in the same way he gutted Twitter immediately after he bought it.
Elon wanted to make X the “Global Town Square”. He’s now learning the hard way that if you let the worst people in society take over the town, then the civilized people will eventually leave and go and live somewhere else. Life is too short to spend every day hanging out with people you don’t like.
Everyone! Please help report this account that is impersonating the real one (Note the two Zs). We need to get it taken down.
Hey you, yes you! New #Bluesky signups have fallen to a still impressive but totally could be better level of only 3 per second! Go out there & find a friend to join us. Sign them up! Let’s help keep the momentum going! We want Bluesky to become the first social app everyone opens. Spread the word!
If everybody on Bluesky wants to own a Bitcoin, I’m afraid that some of you are going to have to go without! Bluesky just passed 21M users!
The #FailWhale was a near daily occurrence in the early days of Twitter. The Bluesky team, made up of 20 people, are successfully scaling to handle almost 1 million new users every day right now. Legends.👏👏👏
