It's very cool to see progress I'm making by going to the gym regularly and eating (relatively) clean. I'm happy with how I look and I have more energy than I have in years, maybe a decade. Upper body and lower body taken after their respective workouts so I do have a good pump going.
We always get a sweet treat at the grocery store and I'd usually get m&ms or something, this week we got dates and lychees instead. Fun fruit seems way more interesting than candy anyhow. And dates are so sweet they're pretty much candy anyhow
Went to a local hand made fair and got these very cool wood burned hats. I've gotten some in the past with hand made patches but these are the first that the art was actually done by hand directly on the hat
What I've been focussed on instead of gaming (I still play plenty of video games)
A smoked mackerel and pickle sandwich might sound like something a cartoon dad would eat that's made up to sound gross but let me tell you it's a fantastic nighttime snack
This weekend we built some cat walk shelves for Stormy and Gizmo. We built it completely from scratch, got lumber, shelf supports, and carpet then stained the wood, cut and stuck carpet to the top, and put them up. I'm pretty proud of these.
3 months into the gym, workin on that dad bod. I don't mind that I've put on fat with the muscle. I've spent most of the last decade being too skinny from too much work & not eating. If it gets out of hand I'll reasses, but for now gaining weight is a good sign for my mental and physical well-being

It's a really nice day so Stormy gets to go exploring. My wife's at work so Gizmo's enjoying the outdoors in a cat backpack. I am not skilled enough to walk two cats at the same time
I am very excited to try this I didn't even know you could get juice out of tamarind. And I can't imagine you can get much out of each one.
If anyone was wondering how friendly/trusting Gizmo is this is a person that was in our house to work on our water heater that he's met maybe 2 or 3 times. He jumped right onto his shoulders Blurred face because out of respect for the random person that I have not gotten permission to post
If you're ever thinking of trying dragon fruit, the bright pink ones with green leaves that look amazing are actually pretty bland. Biggest gap between how good a fruit looks and how good it tastes imo. The yellow ones are where it's at. Still pretty mild and nectar-y, but I freakin love them
Officially my weirdest find since becoming interested in precious metals. It was in a little baggy in a glass case at an antique shop next to sterling silver cutlery and jewelry. It was just so unique, interesting, and gross that I couldn't say no. Coin for scale.
Some US dimes, quarters, and half dollars from before 1916 that all have the same design on the heads side. Called "Barber" coins after Charles Barber, the chief engraver of the US mint who designed the coins

My bank said they had 6 rolls of half dollars, so I withdrew the $60 to get them. Half dollars from 1965-1970 are 40% silver, half dollars (and quarters+dimes) 1964 and earlier are 90% silver. Found these in the rolls, about $45 worth of silver, and the other $59 in coins can go back to the bank.
