My little snore beast

I almost forgot! Some salt crystals made with food coloring. I was messing around with these and wanted to see if food coloring in the salt solution would make something neat.

This last one is LuAG, Lutetium Aluminum Garnet. It also reacts to UV light but glows bright green. Its used in things like PET scanners, CAT scanners and x-ray machines.

Now for my lab made minerals! The first two pics are the same sample but second one is under UV light, its a soviet made ruby rod intended for use in a laser. The second two pics are lab made alexandrite, also made for use in a laser. The latter pic is under UV light, demonstrating it's glow.

Lastly, a sample of selenite. Its a bit difficult to demonstrate how clear it is.

I'm still figuring out macro photography but I had fun taking some pics of my minerals!

I'm trying to make it look more like something that would be in Stardew Valley. Having only 16x16 pixels is hard! I have a newfound respect for pixel artists that do this stuff on a regular basis.

I am not an artist but I am a determined rock nerd and I want my favorite hammer in Stardew Valley. So, I'm trying to make some pixel art to replace the mining pick!

I was just starting to fall asleep when Mr. Goofer started rubbing up to my hand for attention.

I'm going to be 43 years old in a few months. It feels unreal to me. Maybe I should keep avoiding sunlight like it's the plague, it's definitely helped my skin stay young looking.

I'm trying to sleep but my old lady cat is next to me. She is too cute to ignore and she knows it! Scrappy just turned 19 this month!

We really need to stop having geriatric politicians.

1990(ish)me vs 2025 me! I have no idea why I'm standing like a gremlin in the 1990 pic.

In my previous home they'd come right up to my bedroom window but they were also afraid of my cats! I had to take this picture from the second floor because my cats would follow me downstairs and scare them away.
