With the Armies of the Commonwealth book now out for Bolt Action, I've started stripping and repainting my Australians that I painted in 2018. Five Jungle Infantry finished as a test to get the colour scheme sorted.

Sure thing. As far as kitbashes go, this was pretty simple. I used these two kneeling bodies from the German Veterans box and the original arms from the PAK40 crew 👍

When Warlord Games announced they were releasing plastic weapons teams for Bolt Action, I was rather intrigued. I picked this PAK40 up at the store opening earlier this month. Excellent kit all round. I added two kitbashed kneeling crew because I can never really build kits without tinkering 😃

More reinforcements for my second edition 40k Ultramarines. Plastic Terminator squad from 96/97. These were bought painted in about 12 layers of paint and was quite the restoration job. Always enjoy bringing new life to old miniatures 😀

Another second edition 40k bucket list miniature painted - Eversor assassin from 1997. The weather has absolutely battered my painting time recently. This afternoon I learned that painting 90s style hazard stripes on Terminator power fists in 30 degrees is deeply unpleasant.

31. 31 degrees and rising. Genetically, I'm not built for this.

As it was too warm last night to paint, I decided to go through all my copies of White Dwarf. My main period of collecting was between 1992 and 1997. 1993 and 1995 are complete and I only need to find 8 copies I've misplaced over the years for rest. 1991 after that as that's the year it began 😀

My Chaos chaps are also getting the 90s style overhaul too 🙂

Had a few days off this week, so I was able to make some progress on my 40k second edition Ultramarines. Tactical Combat squad added and the Dreadnought has been given a second edition aesthetic update. Last pics are everything so far 😃

This awesome book of supreme madness. Two friends introduced me to it in 1991 and things were never quite the same again.

In a thread yesterday, I mentioned that 141 was my first copy of White Dwarf. This is the oldest copy I own though, bought from a friend because I loved the article about Ork Madboyz. The 'eavy metal back page....absolute perfection.

It's been quite the retro weekend with some epic Space Marine inspired by my recent Goblin Green basing. Another corking game with some great memories 😃

Loctite gel. You need considerably less than the more liquidy superglue, you have a bit more time to work with it but it sets/bonds quickly. These metal chonks were all assembled using superglue gel 👍

Finally doing something I've wanted to do for a while.....turning my generic Space Marines into Ultramarines on 25mm goblin green bases. Feels like a proper second edition 40k army now. Lots more to do but super chuffed with these 😃

Friday night saw my first game of X-Wing first edition in nine years. And even after nine years, the rulebook wasn't opened once. Firmly back in the first edition cockpit 🙂

May 4th and all that....I still have quite a few of the different Star Wars bits and pieces I got for Christmas and birthdays between 1983 and 1985 but these are my favourite - Jabba the Hutt and Slave 1 😃

More US Airborne finished. This weekend I realised four is the limit for batch painting for the sake of my sanity. Then shalt paint to four, no more, no less. Four shall be the number thou shalt paint, and the number of the painting shall be four. Five shalt thou not paint. Six is right out.

Four test miniatures for a new Bolt Action project conceived after rewatching Band of Brothers....101st Airborne and the Battle of Carentan. In other news, online articles on painting D-Day US Airborne uniforms is a rabbit hole I never want to enter ever again.
