Here's a shot from the late Rogue Trader era White Dwarf "Ultramarines" article confirming this Devastator Squad was 2nd Company 4th Squad. At this point none of the Battle Companies had the squad numbers fixed by squad type.
Yes, it is wrong. The Sergeant was initially painted as 4th squad, then he had his banner switched, helmet repainted and the new squad numeral painted on his right shoulder ahead of the publishing of Codex Ultramarines.
The actual value of every Screwfix purchase is getting to do this...
Snaffled these Trojans and Amazons a few years back in an epic 50% off Foundry sale, knowing a day like today would come when Bronze Age warbands would be my primary personal hobby focus.
Got to process my thoughts on the Odyssey with souvlaki and Mythos.
The non-Nolan Antinous is Vincenzo Nicoli, who was in a Nolan Batman. And Nolan's Antinous is Robert Pattison, who was in the non-Nolan Batman.
I really hate that marketing move, where they're reskinning classic as "modern". Worst offender is the DVD cover of the Adam West Batman movie.
Been sculpting this doofy old computer game character just cos! Love sculpting in this "pixel edition" style. This is Bug Hunter (aka Hysteron Proteron) from the classic 1990 Acorn Archimedes computer game Bug Hunter.
I messed up the Citadel/FASA Second Doctor's trousers – shading layers were so thick they gunked up the subtle sculpted trouser-pattern detail. He's standing in paintstripper waist deep so I can keep the top half of the paintjob.
One of the most exciting things I found out at UKGE is @rayboxgames.bsky.social are planning on bringing back Legions of Steel. It's going to be so radical!
Paint sloughing off Nyssa. Her face has gone all wrinkly, Mawdryn Undead mutation style.
Hot weather is messing with the paint consistency on Harlequin Miniatures' Nyssa. It's all going wrong and gloopy so it's off to the paint-stripping jar for her.
Work in Progress of Scream of the Shalka Doctor. Next task, sculpting the Sonic Screwdriver! Then, starting to pose him.
That would be very Wib. Love to see him square the new Voyage Beyond Space Marine ranks with the 40K universe proper. 1. Rear Admiral. 2. Admiral. 3. Fleet Admiral
Interestingly, the Space Crusade Mission Dreadnought boardgame expansion, and the Voyage Beyond computer game expansion disagree about what a Mark VII Dreadnought is. MD states it's the standard version from the core game, but VB says it's an upgraded version with a Carapace Grenade Launcher.
Tightened up the sculpt on the Mawrdryn Undead Transmat, so it's ready for print. Here's a cheeky render of it in silver, with coloured lights and background to give it interest.
Getting excited for @tabletopscot.bsky.social with the absolute cavalcade of people there! You gonna be there?
Painted Harlequin Miniatures' Adric! He's just adorable with his Star of Mathematical Excellence.
Been remastering some of the Röknauts Bedrök Troopers today. Warming down working more on Richard E. Grant Doctor Who.
