Anyone else manage/bother to get a complete set of paper I-series savings bonds before the Treasury stopped offering them via the IRS? No? Just me? Figured.
Jimothy has acquired his place of honor. (One of only two not-autographed cards I have out on display and if I ever meet him you bet I'm asking for a paw stamp or slash across the face or whatever.)
These were the three text messages ST sent out last night and this morning. No bus bridge operated last night. If we are going to hold the Mayor of Seattle to a very high standard when it wouldn’t have done much good, how about our transit leaders do the same when it would actually help?
Plus every customer-facing website I've encountered that prompts to set one up...tells you what they are. Costco, for example. Your IT company's login page might not, but there are different expectations in that case.
That's at least one confirmed vote for @niluj.bsky.social and @ronpdavis.bsky.social and libraries 📚✅🗳️
"Jet Lag: The Game" mentioned on Jeopardy. If anyone (@kenjennings.bsky.social?) wants to play the "Jet Lag: The Game" hide and seek home game here in Seattle, or a form of Transit Tag, hit me up. Several friends and I have copies of it, including the expansion. It's really fun on our transit!
If you are in the cool part of Seattle (north of 85th!) and this text message doesn't inspire you to vote for @niluj.bsky.social I don't know if we can be friends. (please vote for nilu i need a good city councilmember for the first time in ages please i beg you)
Easily my favorite text message. If you are up here in the nosebleed section of Seattle, please do the required steps to mark correctly for @ronpdavis.bsky.social
so is the seattle public library so we'll all allow it (picture of when @spl.org marched in the Norwegian Constitution Day parade with red book carts loaded with literature from Norwegian authors)
unique pain in particular hats (courtesy, as always, of the fantastic @nathanwpyle.bsky.social who, much like Randall Munroe, always has a comic for that.)
I love Jeopardy! anecdotes and wonder what Ben Crockett's Bluesky handle is because with a niche like this you know he has one. (Captions included or you can use audio.)
For no particular reason whatsoever, if you were wondering what @seattletru.bsky.social members have been up to lately... transitriders.org/all-2026-pri...
"People have to own cars, otherwise how do you buy $200 worth of soda at WinCo." It takes a little planning, yes, esp. on a Sunday but it is quite doable. Not pictured: the backpack's worth of other groceries. Also: Saars, this sale could have been yours but screw your stupid bag ban policy.
Yes! Our transit agencies have been off-the-wall good on matchdays. Everything's been working well, even for me who hasn't been going to game things (too busy!) and the touches are amazing. Like, they didn't *have* to make a different version of this sign...but they did. And I love it.
It looks a lot like the blue Delft houses KLM gives out to business class passengers. For obvious reasons, I don’t have one … but I want one. (I bet people can get similar styles from other places but I have it in my head that they all come from KLM.)
If you're going to have a take about the complaints from residents Pride Place on Capitol Hill, my only ask is that you make it to the last stanza of the Capitol Hill Seattle article.
In case you were wondering, yes the stops along Seaview Ave NW *are* the old route 46 stops! Metro loves its history!
I also appreciate the attempted gotcha of the person represented being "a real historical figure". Yeah and so was Stephen Hawking but that doesn't make his episode of Star Trek where he played poker with Data and Albert Einstein a freaking documentary.
