Making the world better, one texel at a time Vancouver #gamedev #shaders #unity3d
Another "i can just make this" moment. Finally made a quick favorites tool that allows you to quickly play an animation on Gesture Manager from a predefined list. Together with time scale adjustments - makes it really nice to test for clipping issues. I should really find a place to dump these
Every time i have to add toggles to my avatar i end up lamenting how many clicks it takes to just add some simple stuff. A couple weeks ago i threw together an NDMF tool of my own that generates DBT-friendly toggles. Feels good to just drag and drop stuff, takes seconds due to large drop targets.
Unity 6 added some based buttons, apparently No longer do you need a custom script just to have the game view follow the scene view - now you can take over any camera and easily position it in the scene by flying around in the scene view :chefkiss:
Tomorrow me solved this by writing a reflection-based code generator that runs through the whole structure and writes it out as a compile time constant (properly handling nested structs and converting slices into fixed-sized arrays). Some of my ancient custom deserializer code came in super clutch
Me out here straight up Yandare-deving. Playdate is too constrained to run ODIN's built-in json decoder, so I have to use Playdate's built-in one. And I'm too lazy to write a reflection-based procedure to assign the values back. So now its just this, mistakes are being made on live television
After a day of playing a number of different games with my steam controller (my point of reference - Xbox Elite 2) Pros: - More comfortable and lighter than I expected - All the buttons feel good, back buttons imho are huge upgrade over the deck - Very seamless experience when steam is running [1/5]
Opened Spotify for the first time in like a year to check out my all time wrapped, apparently @mordfustang.com is my most listened artist, checks out honestly. Glad to actually own the full discography now and have it with me at all times though
I have way too many pictures of thin white blinds creating shadow artifacts that just look like what you get using virtual point lights approximations or just straight up banding yeah. Or stuff like this that just looks like broken lightmap UVs. Literally unplayable
Ty so much to @qqqewie.bsky.social for drawing my VRC Avatar ❤️ I think they'll have some more commission slots in june, can't recommend them enough
Straftat continues to be the most fun you can have with up to 9 other people. Every single time its an absolute blast, just grab the "more strafts" mod in r2modman to paly with more than 4 people
Almost feels like some artist was tasked with making a decal with some coordinate looking numbers, so they just ended up finding this google help page The coordinates point to Sagrada Familia in Spain, just FYI I love finding random stuff like this, always feels like i see the person behind it :D
Random uselss #arknightsendfield fact for you The game uses this little decal with some coordinates in a bunch of places, e.g. in your lounge room. I went to look up "how to use coordinates in google maps" to see where that was. And guess what i found on the maps help page? The same coordinates!
If any fellow #Uruki3D enjoyer wants to de-violate their nose, here you go. I remade the nose band-aid texture from scratch in material maker. In the package you'll find textures you can drag and drop in any image editor. Grab here: cdn.orels.one/assets/Uruki... #Unity3D #MaterialMaker
Hey! Yeah its using the height (displacement) map to drive some Parallax Occlusion Mapping to create the fake depth effect. I made the PCB texture set in Material Maker Here are some scary noodles
I think this is good enough for tonight. Not exactly happy with the design on the sides, but I don't hate it either, will play with smth else down the line
Needed something PCB-Shaped, so used that as an excuse to play with @rodzlabs.bsky.social 's MaterialMaker I think it turned out somewhat ok, still getting used to all the tools and really miss a nice "Height Blend" node with midpoint control, but was a pretty great experience otherwise #3dart
I really like deck.blue for a tweetdeck style experience for bluesky. Since there are quite a bit of pretty good feeds + feeds you can make yourself - it is actually much more useful on bsky than it ever was on twitter imho
