I think about these panels a lot when it comes to that part of her character. (First of all, AMAZING use of colour. I love New Mutants). Gabby is capable of being serious, but she turns that shit right off in an instant so she doesn't make the people around her feel bad about themselves.

Someone liked this post from a year ago which reminded me that I never actually did that. So I finally did that. Her appearance is based on Scully from The X Files, as my DM says that that's how they picture her.
I mean. I very rationally think that Gabby Kinney deserves a solo series. Which is why I'm writing one. She's such an interesting character and far more than just Laura's sidekick. (Art from issue #1 of my fancomic, this is shameless self promotion, it's linked on my profile go read it)
Started drawing this a month ago and finally got around to finishing it. I've since stopped having those specific hallucinations as I've gotten used to the job. But at the time it was that plus exclusively raft related dreams. I was LOCKED IN on rafting.
Yet ANOTHER character on my artfight page that only had a reference sheet!! I did a mass attack including Frynie last year that used really vivid colours so I wanted to add an image to her profile with that kind of vibe. I'm quite happy with it!

I will give you One Small Section Of The Page as a treat. The page has to do with Cosmar's mutation, which is VERY involved to draw. But it's coming out good so far, I think. I'm trying so hard to keep it from being too visually busy.
Issue 2 of my fancomic has been slow going because of work, but I just finished page 10! This is the longest comic I've worked on and I'm very very proud of it. I try to ignore what's easy for me to draw while writing scripts, so that makes it a fun challenge. This is from issue #1!
