More babies! Here are a Rosebreasted Grosbeak, a MoDo, a RWBB, a Blue Jay and a Grackle. All youngsters, with their unique coloring and patterns, the soft skin around the beak and the cuteness. I think it the color combos are really nice, especially with the insides of the beak.

Not much going on but here is one of the Monarch cats doing its thing. I am so excited to see them this year, and I love watching them womp around 🙂 I hope it all goes well and I get to see the full process. 🦋

The yard is full of young birds and animals, and it is so much fun to watch them. It feels like an honor that their parents decided that this is a safe spot for them to learn how to live. Bonus-tree clip - the Redbellied youngster was not on the ground. And a teensy opossum ❤️ #birds

The air is a lot better today, but the heat is back. And there are new creatures around that are exciting - some Milkweed popped up in my garden this year, and I found Monarch caterpillars and eggs on it. Also some ear wigs, which apparently eat them,

More stuff is happening at the little "bee hotel". Today, a wasp came and closed the hole in the one tube that a Sweat Bee opened. I am not sure what this wasp is. And now there are two working on one of the tubes I got from Bee Cups. Can anyone identify for me? #Michigan #nature

In Michigan, we only get the Rubythroated Hummingbirds, and people often get confused when they either see a female that does not have the red gorget or when a male moves so that the red appears black. I slowed this clip down so you can see how the colors are changing, it is quite magical. #birds

As an immigrant, I am grateful and love the chances I've had, the people I've met, the food and the nature and wildlife here. It's so diverse and glorious it robs you of your breath. In a way, we are like this Blue Jay, loud, red white and blue and messy, but also beautiful. Happy birthday, USA ❤️

The Bee cups are very popular, mostly with non-insect beings right now though 😆 I keep refilling them in hopes that a butterfly or something else really cool lands there but so far no real dice. It is nice to see the birds and critters getting their hydration in this heat, though.

Flickers are woodpeckers with short legs, so getting into a bird bath is a little weird for them. But this guy was determined and made it happen, even if just quickly. Then a Blue Jay decided to take a sunbath right in the pool. That section if sped up five times to show how long it was.

Male, female, young, old, Baltimore Orioles look glorious in every iteration. And they make the coolest sounds too. They are a perfect summer bird, they just delight on pure sight. That rhymes, and what rhymes is good, as Pumuckl used to say, a cartoon figure from my childhood. Happy weekend, world!

Grackle babies are such charming little things. I love their colors and the squawks and how excitedly they greet their parents and explore the yard. The second to last is already a teen, with some darker adult feathers molting in. I also saw the first baby Blue Jay, so fun times are coming. #birds

The Wren babies hatched on June 16, and they are doing really well. The parents are constantly feeding them, and I always find it interesting to see what they bring - I see spiders, ticks, moths, ants and larvae - and also what a teeny tiny baby bird can stomach. #nestwatch

When the Birdfy camera needs to be charged or does not work (like today), I sometimes stick one of the Wyze cams in the feeder. This was recorded today and it cracked me up. That Cardi did NOT want to share 😆 Mme Woodpecker contorts herself because the feeder was empty and she was hungry. #birds
