Can't believe it, but it's actually here! So proud to have been a part of #HeartsofRavensdale and to help bring the Dales to life. I will be talking about #TheOldWays campaign on youtube this Wed (7/8), including the scenario, A Fox in the Dale. Feel free to stop in! www.youtube.com/watch?v=OekK...
Spent my birthday in a cool theatre with a truly amazing rom-com... had so much fun listening to couples laughing nervously when things hit too close to home.
Both excited and terrified for GOW: Laufey. Excited 'cause of more reasons than I can list here. Terrified because I anticipate the incoming glut of 'questionable' Phranque (Frank) fan-fic and pics... God bless you, Internet. God bless you...
"Think back to your childhood. Do you remember when the anxiety started?"
What was with the Greeks and heels? Talos bled out from his. Hercules had his attacked by a crab. Achilles took an arrow in his. It's like every saga was written by Κουέντιν Ταραντίνο.
Played some community DnD at the library last night, as my 1st level death cleric. Kind of fun playing with strangers, laying rest to a minotaur skeleton, and dealing with weird fae. Loved how another player and I instinctually shared the same ridiculous Eastern Bloc accent for our drow 🧝♀️
Okay, this is surreal... Return of the Jedi opening day in Edmonton in 1983. I'm probably in this photo. Our school did their pre-summer field trip to this showing. Honestly, I miss that theatre. So many opening shows. Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Hobbit (1977). Empire Strikes Back.
#MementoMori by #TwoLittleMice reconfirms how gorgeous their games are. The hardcover, gold-leafed books aren't just pretty, the interior art is pure nightmare fuel. And I love it!
Not seen #TheLongWalk yet? Promptly unf%&k that shit. It is still living rent-free in my head days later. Easily one of the best #StephenKing adaptations because it strips out the Hollywood BS and just focuses on his strength - characters. Hoffman and Jonsson are miracles. Simple. Brutal. See it.
After ten years, Episode 5 for THE LONG DARK dropped, finally revealing the fates of Astrid and MacKenzie. Buggy, little illogical, but overly an enjoyable (if bleak) ending to a decade's long story. Definitely intrigued by the upcoming sequel. In the meantime, going to play some more Survival mode.
Dude, my worries for #BoneTemple were put to rest. Hot damn that was glorious, bloody fun. And - if I might say - infinitely better the 28 Years Later. Sort of glad I ~didn't~ see it in the theatre, 'cause I was up and dancing (flailing) with Fiennes in one of the best scenes I've watched in ages...
Not gonna lie, this may be one of the most beautiful books in my collection. I don't want to even unwrap the thing XD
One thing ~not~ on my Bingo Card list today was being an absolute emotional wreck watching #ONE_PIECE (on Netflix). Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk deserves an Emmy nomination. Plan and simple. Genuinely floored by how incredible his performance was. Like criminally amazing.
Got to play ONCE MORE INTO THE VOID at the @magpiegames.bsky.social community game-day. Just a delightful time exploring my trauma-cat, medical officer and interacting with some fantastic players and talented GM. Would love playing this PC again.
The rare exception to the staggeringly terrible acting was this guy (no clue what his name was). The Italian Space-Luchador/Robot Engineer. He literally acrobatic flipped out of every scene he was in. EVERY one. And he wasn't even the main hero. Greatest side character ever written.
Friend invited me to join #Basement1F's midnight viewing of Star Odyssey (1979). I thought the 'Italian Star Wars rip-off' would be Star Crash (1978). Holy god, if only it HAD been that travesty. I can't express how intensely bad this film was. And, it was all played seriously, making it even worse.
The more I read about seminal games and their developers, the more it's confirmed people with passion and vision change the world... and how increasingly rare that trend is becoming. #FightMagicItems is an inspiring insight into early JRPG development and a must-read for game designers.
Well, if it wasn't hard enough not being in Tokyo, just watched #FamilyRental. That was simply perfection. Brendan Fraser is a miracle amongst miracles in this heartfelt film. Also nearly feel outta my chair when Tamae Andô of #MidnightDiner showed up. Easily one of my new favorites.
Second day work canceled. Not that I could get there anyway XD Not looking forward to going out to shovel the walk for the first time in two (?) years.
Spent the afternoon reading new game system, #Solitaria, and enjoying all-you-can-eat sushi/ramen/rolls/etc. Interesting system, thus far, with some cool ideas. Apart from the salmon skin roll, the food has been insanely good. Bart-in-eel-sauce was unexpected 😅 In-coming food coma...
I've read some dark stuff but holy hell... 100 Ghost Stories That Will Lead to My Own Death just gets darker and darker. And we're only at story #40. In truth, the 'intros' are what makes my skin crawl. Surreal and sedate wtfness punctuated by mental and physical abuse. I am not making it to 100 😬😅
