As someone who is retired military, this is actually something recruiters Should Not Be Allowed To Advise:

Another telling detail in the AP story is that when Brouillette, as a younger man, tried to join the military, recruiters turned him away because of his mental health record ... and advised him to stop taking his psychiatric medications for a year and try again. This was not because anyone believed that going off his medications would somehow transform Brouillette from an unstable, extremely mentally ill man into someone psychologically healthy and qualified to carry a deadly weapon among civilians. It was because a provable claim that he hadn't been medicated for his severe diagnoses in over a year would enable the recruiters to sign that deeply mentally ill and unstable man up to do violence work in a uniform. After that, he'd be the problem of faraway overseas civilians.

I am both sad and tired of the YT algorithm throwing me AI crap narration of (possibly human-originated, but more likely GenAI) stories with accompanying GenAI artwork. This pic makes no sense - the audio describes her as "Commander", but she's wearing LT shoulderboards with LCDR bronze oak leaves.

OFC that's only the start - Navy JAGs have a different (Restricted Line) insignia on the shoulderboards in place of the URL stars that SHOULD be where those random bronze oak leaves are, as well as no JAG pin near the collar. The "warfare pin" the AI crap pic is wearing does not exist AFAICT and the only one of "her" ribbons I recognize looks like the Army "I survived basic training" ribbon.

The fact that "her" face is 98% the same as the last AI crap video the YT algo served me ("Call sign HADES flew medevac missions in Kandahar" but has been chilling in TX for 20+ years, no really for real!) is no surprise.
