Taking Unite out of Worlds is absolute insanity. If you've ever been to Pokemon Worlds in person, you KNOW how rabid these live crowds consistently get. Like, why would you DO this?

Pokémon UNITE Championship Series
The Pokémon UNITE Championship Series will no longer be a part of the Championship Series in the 2027 season.

There will be a standalone in-person Pokémon UNITE event planned to take place in Japan, with paid travel for qualified teams. Additional details, including qualification and travel support information, will be announced at a later date on the Pokémon UNITE official site.

Play! Pokémon would like to thank all the dedicated teams, competitors, and organizations in the Pokémon UNITE community for the spirit and passion they have brought to battles around the world.

Among the hundreds of gaming communities out there, one of the many that have continually fascinated me is the Kaizo Mario community. These are talented modders who continually find new and creative ways to build on classic Mario games and make them exponentially more challenging. The spirit of this community is found all across the Super Mario Maker 2 community. Many of them are found playing new mods for 1991's Super Mario World and 1989's Super Mario Bros. 3, in which intrepid modders usually build onto existing hardware to create things previously thought to be impossible given their inherent limitations. For this month's feature, I wanted to spotlight Twitch streamer GlitchCat7, who has gone off the beaten path and built something new and exciting for the stepchild of the Mario platformers: Super Mario Bros. 2.
