And the video of the scene- the models are rough as I just wanted a quick block out, but I was able to keep a lot of the visual information to use in the final paintover. Which was a big timesaver!

And very belated, but here are all the outdoor studies I did back in February- finally got around to arranging and photographing them. All done in oils, usually between 20-30 minutes to really focus on capturing light and brushwork!

Rocks and waves- feel like this is a good breakthrough for the kind of impressionistic approach I want to push more in my oil studies!

January’s outdoor paintings! Mostly done on the Petite Paintbox using a selfie tripod as a base- very light and portable set up perfect for longer hikes! #oilpainting #pleinairpainting

Pan around of the space in blender! As you can see things are really only added in if visible from the specific camera I referenced while building. Did some basic stuff with geometry nodes, modifiers, and shaders, all of which I go into more thoroughly in the project file for this in my site!

New personal painting! Inspired by the literal idea of building on the bones of the past, plus some sprinkling of elements from the myth of Ymir. Painted using a 3D block-in with blender, and I have a quick video of that in the thread! #fantasyart #darkfantasy

View of the set in blender directly- what helped immensely with this process was establishing a camera early on. That way, I could clearly decide what to build and saved time avoiding unnecessary details. Model is a combination of standard modeling techniques as well as some grease pencil to mesh!

New personal piece- inspired using a 3D/2D workflow to quickly get a “finished” looking image without getting too lost in overworking. Next post in the thread includes a pan around of the set in blender and some thoughts on process! #visualdevelopmentart #darkfantasyart
