Now that it’s officially summer, we’re back to Summer Sunday Reggae in Devon. If you don’t like Marley we can’t be friends. #nowspinning #sundayspinning #vinylsky
And not to be a downer seems like a bit of a lie...Come on man, we are in the ECF, enjoy it!
Rainy Sunday morning #nowspinning The Boss. Born in the USA is definitely rock but it’s also very 80’s; heavy synth and pop hooks throughout. Definitely an all timer though. The title song is a protest song and he’s still protesting - Bruce vs. Donald www.nytimes.com/2026/05/03/b... Rock on Bruce!
Saturday morning kicking into gear with a hidden gem of an album - Buddy Miles’ 1970 debut solo album Them Changes. Buddy was fresh off a two year stint with Jimi Hendrix. Title track is a classic but the two covers - Dreams and Down by the River - are also great. #nowspinning #vinylsky
Deep cuts #nowspinning - Sea Level was a side project for some of the Allman Brothers Band members in the mid-70s. Missing Duane or Dickie’s solos but leaning more into horns and funk rhythms. It’s a fun listen for a drab Sunday morning. #sundayspinning #vinylsky
Saturday spinning the epitome of 70’s blue-eyed soul, Van Morrison’s 1971 album Tupelo Honey. Tons of good tracks but the title track is one of his best and worth the price of the album ($5 lol) on its own. #nowspinning #vinylsky
Playoffs clinched! Now let’s tear the roof off this place Cole! 50 c’est 50! LFG!!! #gohabsgo
Carrier (or Xhekaj) wasn’t the problem tonight. Actually the best of a bad group tonight.
Snow and sun makes for a bright Sunday morning and this is wonderful soundtrack. Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson’s 1983 album Poncho and Lefty is an easy listening country and western classic. Couple of great voices and songs that make you smile like Willie on the cover. #nowspinning #vinylsky
Rainy Saturday spinning Jerry Garcia’s 1972 solo debut album. It’s Jerry through and through. Great album, great vinyl auction score! #nowspinning #vinylsky
Sunday Spinning Sturgill Simpson’s Sound & Fury. Released in 2019 it was a huge departure from his country roots. It is a great album though and makes me excited for his recently announced next release under the pseudonym Johnny Blue Skies. He describes it as a dance album 😂 #nowspinning
Saturday spinning JJ Cale’s Naturally. Been watching The Lowdown in Disney and JJ’s tunes are featured prominently. Effortlessly cool. #nowspinning
Saturday spinning some A Bros. Hard to believe it’s a debut album. Full of soul and classic from start to finish; tunes that stand the test of time. Released in 1969, 2 months after Abbey Road, 1 after Zeppelin II and a week before Let It Bleed. What a time for music! #nowspinning #vinylsky
Stormy Sunday morning spinning…couldn’t be anything but the Dead today. RIP Bob Weir. Wear the hell out of those jorts at the great gig in the sky! #nowspinning #vinylsky
Saturday #nowspinning my most recent sweet score from Atlantic Vinyl Auction on FB. Let It Bleed is the second of the Stones’ epic 4 album studio run from 68-72 that, IMHO, defines the band. All killer, no filler…for 4 years. Peak of their powers. #vinylsky
Certainly won’t disagree with you on the beauty of the Acadian Coast, family had a place in Rexton until recently and I try to spend as much time there as I can. Really need to get up North though.
#Nowspinning an absolute classic of a Sunday Morning album. Deja Vu is 56 years old and holds up as an all time great album from 4 R&R Hall of Famers. Harmonies that are hard to match. #vinylsky
Not ready to give up the Xmas tunes just because the big day is passed. Boxing Day #nowspinning A Motown Christmas. It’s good but very traditional and missing many Motown artists (it’s only the artists on the cover). Still great to keep the spirit going though! Merry Christmas from Canada! #vinylsky
Perfect accompaniment tunes to a sunny, but frosty, laid back Sunday morning. #Sundayspinning Gregg Allman’s 1973 solo debut Laid Back. It’s a beautiful, soulful album and you should listen to it. #nowspinning
Night’s off to a good start! Habs win would make it all the better. Cheers Gilles 🍻
#Saturdayspinning my favourite album of the last 10 years - Sturgill Simpson’s 2016 breakout album A Sailor’s Guide to Earth. A twangy, trippy and rockin protest album. App killer, no filler. #whothefuckissturgillsimpson
Saturday morning #nowspinning - Stones 1968 classic Beggars Banquet. 1st of 4 straight masterpieces that make up a 4 album run that’s as good as any. Beggars to Exile is pretty much the peak of Rock. Zeppelin I to IV is right there and wild they were basically the same years. What a time for music.
Sunday morning #nowspinning - Traveling Wilbury’s Vol.1. Finally found this on a FB auction is and happily put in top bid. Seminal album of my youth; I have vivid memories of listening on the back roads of New Brunswick. And it definitely made me dive into all of the members’ catalogs. #vinylsky
Saturday morning #nowspinning - Gregg Allman’s 1987 solo album I’m No Angel. Title track is a classic and a banger. The rest…isn’t great. The (incredibly 80’s) photo on the back looks like the album sounds. #vinylsky
#Nowspinning on Truth & Reconciliation Day; Gord Downie’s haunting album Secret Path. It’s musically brilliant but a tough listen/watch. It’s also important and maybe Gord’s most cherished legacy. You can, and should, watch it all here - www.youtube.com/live/yGd764Y.... #TruthAndReconciliation
Sunday morning #nowspinning Sly & the Family Stone’s 1970 Greatest Hits compilation. A great way to kick start a sunny late summer Sunday. Reminds me that I need to watch the Sly doc released earlier this year. #sundayspinning #vinylsky
