According to the vet records, Loki was trapped and had his first exam one year ago. We didn't adopt him until October, but this is a milestone worth celebrating. Here he is now. His tail is just a mass of floof, he's incredibly affectionate, and loving every minute of his life. #CatsOfBluesky

For sure. It's (almost literally, if your spirituality goes that way) grounding. We love to sit on our porch and enjoy them. So do the cats. And the red-shouldered hawk that we spotted in the front yard? Probably mad that the trees block the view. It's really nice to share the space with nature.

It is, but people have started to fixate on mixes and such, similar to how dogs are. We adopted a cat that's probably a Russian Blue and Angora mix... But to us, he's just a love. He was a TNR that was social enough for adoption. Parentage totally unknown. so the best way to describe him is.. cat.

Made teriyaki chicken noodle stir fry tonight. The fresh ginger knocked it out of the park, and the salty cashews were icing on the cake. Yum!

First day wearing this shirt. Naturally, when my wife and I went out to breakfast, one of the servers is a recently hatched trans man egg (who still hasn't come out to their parents). That discussion happened before they saw my shirt... at which point, I honestly think they were almost crying.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day, everyone! I kept it pretty simple for our table fare tonight, although I did give fondant potatoes a try. Serving up now, with at least one Guinness on standby for later this evening.

Last night we had a massive nacho tray. It had originally been intended for the Superb Owl, but everyone was sick. It turned out amazing. Store bought pico de gallo, but I made the queso blanco from scratch, and I will absolutely be doing that again!

Two casserole dishes full of nachos. Tortilla strips, seasoned ground beef, black beans, pico de gallo, and homemade queso blanco. The dishes are sitting on the stove top to cool.

It's #Caturday, and Loki is going to enjoy his very much. He doesn't really fit on the back of the couch when he stretches out, but he also doesn't really care. And even with the perspective of the shot, his tail is just as big and floofy as it looks.
