District 8 renters: BASTA’s Community Teach-In Series on Renters’ Rights in Texas is coming up Thursday, July 23 at 6 PM. This teach-in will cover renters’ rights, recent changes to the eviction process due to SB 38, and additional protections for tenants in city-funded housing.

This morning, I was proud to present a proclamation recognizing National Public Works Week in Austin. Public works professionals keep our city moving every day.

Hydrilla is spreading throughout Lake Austin, and the City is using sterile grass carp to help manage it. 🐟 Earlier this month, the City released an additional 2,790 sterile grass carp into Lake Austin to help manage hydrilla, a fast-growing non-native, invasive aquatic plant.

This morning we celebrated Bike to Work Day at City Hall with Austin’s cycling community! 🚴🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ Since joining City Council, my vision has been an expanded bike network that works for people of all ages and abilities across Austin.

A great morning aboard the Zilker Eagle in District 8 with students from Boone Elementary School! 🚂🌳🐻 This week, we joined AISD students for a trip made possible through a partnership between Austin Parks Foundation and Austin Ed Fund.

We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and took time to learn more about the services and projects impacting our community.

The City departments, community partners, local organizations & businesses helped make the fair memorable.

We loved seeing so many neighbors stop by to connect with our office, ask questions, learn more about local projects, and get connected with City resources.
