Rew started hacking and puking today, and luckily she did it in front of the vet. We're currently trying to narrow down if she has a collapsed trachea, so she is banned from collars for now. She did not enjoy today.

Got my new stick tape colors and redid the practice stick and the game stick. Tried two different ways of doing the end caps.

A ccm xf70 goalie stick. The blade is taped from toe to around the heel in trans pride colors. The tape knob grip is done in asexual pride flag colors. Halfway up the stick is the aromantic pride flag in tape.

The top of the end cap of the CCM xf70. It is taped in a vertical orientation to have the trans pride flag.

A Warrior Swagger goalie stick. The blade is taped from toe to around the heel with trans pride colors. The tape knob and its grip are done in asexual pride flag colors. The grip is done in aromantic pride flag colors.

Tomorrow I get to play a gnoll Divination wizard in a new DnD campaign and I'm so excited! My first VTT game as well. She's 5'4", her STR mod is -2 and she will force the worst fate upon anyone who calls her a runt.

She kept taking surprise shots at me too! It might sound odd, but I'm proud I made such an impression and she was having fun with it too. It was fun! It kept things interesting! She cheered me on today in drills when I controlled the puck and denied rebounds. So satisfying to hear, "NO REBOUND!"

Favorite moment from this weekend so far though: When you see me look off to the left, that's when Claire was teasing me because I hadn't let any pucks in yet during that drill. I think someone had just said, "Come on, Paige! Just let me get one in!" just before.

Rew is a mutt. She's a rat terrier mix of some sort.

I've been taping my sticks with trans pride since the start, and I've gotten compliments in every rink, club, league, and events. I've been this loud and proud and helping other people see hockey is for everyone, and it's paid off in return with the people who notice.

The IOC put pressure on USA Hockey to change its policy to ban trans players from single sex leagues, which doesn't affect just competitive leagues, but also the rec leagues where tired 40+ year olds like me play. This podcast does a great job going over how absurd it all is.

I love this little clip my friend got of me blocking a pass across the crease with a kick. My butterfly is terrible after that slide and I need to work on paying attention to that, but that little "doink" and sending the puck the other way makes me giggle.

A friend came to my last pick up game and took a bunch of photos, and this one has got to be my absolute favorite. There's just something about the presence. (Also having so many photos and even video has helped me catch things I can improve on.)

I love showing up to a skills clinic with my stick taped up like this and have some young queer person immediately mention it as soon as they get the chance. Yup, bud, there's family here too. I've taped my stick this way since the first game and never gotten shit once.
