"Excellent! I've got some paperwork to get a more detailed medical history then we'll take you next door and have one of our nurses take your blood." Idaira offers cheerfully as she gets the paperwork together. #lyonslegacy

"Ok. Good. Then lets do this." Aiden looks at the doctor and says, "Lets do what we need to do to move forward with the genetic testing." Jake nods in agreement from beside him. Excited and nervous in equal measure. #lyonslegacy

Jake nods and smiles, mirroring his husband and taking a deep breath. "Yeah. We did. It's just more real now that we're sitting here." He confesses, smiling at the doctor. "All perfectly normal." Idaira reassures, but doesn't push for an answer, letting them decide. #lyonslegacy

"What do you think?" Jake can't think of any questions at the moment but his thoughts feel jumbled. Aiden considers as he watches Jake, taking a deep breath. "We should get it started. We already agreed we wanted this." He reminds Jake, but it's also a hidden question. Is he sure? #lyonslegacy

That makes sense to both of them and they both nod their acknowledgment. "We can start that today if you like. We'll need a little blood and a cheek swab to get us started. No rush of course, I'm happy to answer any and all questions." Idaira reassures with another kind smile. #lyonslegacy

"Like what?" Aiden asks, slightly alarmed and concerned. "Like iron deficiency. It's a recessive trait, but if you both have it, it may pass onto your child." Idaira reassures kindly. "When it's finished, you'll come in for a second visit. We'll tell you then if we found anything." #lyonslegacy

"First of all, we'll do genetic testing. We want to make sure your child will be healthy. And while our process eliminates birth defects, we want to look out for anything that may cause problems genetically." Idaira explains plainly, wanting to be upfront. #lyonslegacy

"Do you know anything about how this works?" The doctor asks gently. "We were told the basics." Aiden explains. "And that it was a fairly straight-forward process." "Oh absolutely." Idaira agrees, smiling at the two. #lyonslegacy

Jake clears his throat. "We, um. We'd like to have kids. A couple we know recommended this office. They came here for both theirs." He explains, briefly glancing around at the furnishings. "I see. Well, we'd be happy to get you started." Idaira agrees, pulling some paperwork out #lyonslegacy

"It might be less confusing if you use our first names. I'm Aiden, this is Jake." He introduces at they sit down. Amused and glad she could break the ice, Dr. Marquez nods and smiles as she puts the chart down. "Of course, it's good to meet you both. What brings you to me today?" #lyonslegacy

They don't have to wait long after handing their paperwork in, before someone shows them back to Dr. Idaira Marquez's office. "Good afternoon, Mr. and Mr. Lawson-Lyons." The doctor says, looking up from behind her desk with a friendly smile.

"Here, why don't you fill this out. Your handwriting is better than mine." Jake offers the clipboard to his husband to give him something to focus on. Aiden nods and takes the clipboard without a word, starting to fill it out precisely and murmuring questions when they arise. #lyonslegacy

"We have you right here!" The perky receptionist chirps, picking up a clipboard to slide across the counter to the two men. "Just fill this out as much as you can and we'll be right with you!" "Thanks." Jake nods, taking the clipboard and pen and turning to tug Aiden over to a seat. #lyonslegacy

When the day finally comes Aiden is nervous and while Jake might not show it as much, he is, too. "Excuse me, we're here to see Dr. Marquez. It should be under Lyons." Jake says to the receptionist, taking Aiden's hand to stop his fidgeting. #lyonslegacy

"Come on. Lets go inside. Tomorrow, we'll call the clinic, before you go." Jake decides on the plan with a firm nod as he leans over his husband Aiden laughs softly, looking up at Jake. "Okay, lets watch that new movie you were talking about." "As you wish." Jake agrees with a smile. #lyonslegacy

"She was always active. Yoga is something else you two have in common now." Jake points out, rather amused and looking up at the open sky for a moment. "That's true. Maybe I'll visit he work while I'm there." Aiden decides thoughtfully. #lyonslegacy

After watching Jake closely for a minute to make sure he's really ok, Aiden nods. "Ok. It'll be good to see her. She works at a spa now, you know. Teaching yoga or something." Idly he considers taking one of her classes. #lyonslegacy

"You should go." Jake encourages, nodding. "We just saw Elias and my mom, it's been a while since you've spent time with her. Go and have fun." Aiden considers, looking up at Jake. "What will you do?" "Probably spend some more time with the horses." They need it anyway, Jake thinks. #lyonslegacy

"Only a sap for you, babe." Jake retorts, glad to see Aiden relaxing a little more from his nerves. "Speaking of..." "Sap?" Jake is confused. "High school." Aiden corrects, rolling his eyes. "Tony keeps asking me when I'll come visit again. I was thinking this weekend?" #lyonslegacy

"More points for my team." Aiden says triumphantly, laughing even though he's glad Jake never had any scares with his girlfriends either. "I'm always on your team." Jake replies smoothly with a soft smile at Aiden. "Sap." Aiden accuses, even if he blushes. #lyonslegacy

A small snort, then laugh from Aiden, who looks amused. "Thank the Watcher we never had to worry about it being unplanned. Can you imagine?" Jake laughs as well and shakes his head. "Nah. Some friends in high school had scares with their girlfriends, though. Glad it was never me." #lyonslegacy

"I really want to do this, but I'm still scared." Aiden confesses, trying not to think too hard just yet over what's to come. But Jake just smiles. "I understand. I am too. I think all parents feel that way. Even if they plan on being parents." #lyonslegacy

Aiden looks nervous. "Not yet. I wanted to check with you, your schedule, you know. I kind of wanted you to be here when I did, 'cause.. well, it's both of us." "Hey, it's ok. We can call tomorrow." Jake soothes. This is a big step, he understands his husband being nervous. He is too. #lyonslegacy

".. so that's what Dale and Morgan said." Aiden explains later after Jake gets back from the horse barn, showered and fed. Jake relaxes and takes in everything for a minute. "Did you call the doctor yet?" #lyonslegacy

When they finally part ways, Aiden is feeling almost giddy. He's more confident about their choice, beyond just his desire to start a family with Jake. And he can't wait to learn more about how they will get their own little bundle of joy. #lyonslegacy

This time Aiden does laugh but he relaxes. They probably spend too much time chatting, and gossiping, and he lets Dale and Morgan gush about their kids as much as they want. He could use all the parenting perspectives he can get at this point. #lyonslegacy

Aiden tries not to laugh, but he nods. "A baby shower would be nice. I'm sure Jake's mom will kill us if we don't have one. Thanks a lot.. really." "Anytime." Dale answers easily, "Now, c'mon.. loosen up, it's been forever." #lyonslegacy
