Although I wasn’t as completely consistent with my intended designs, the rework I’m needing to do is relatively minor. I’m so jazzed, here’s an extremely rare actual screencap rather than a picture I took from my phone
This is so nuts. My layer theory for my comic is paying off, but the process has taken so long that coming to this stage now, I’m in many ways seeing what I drew for the very first time, like an extremely slow-burning polaroid. This is turning out so much better than I hoped.

Sometimes I think I could make a more effective character if they didn’t also have to look like a person and I don’t know what I should be taking from that
Don’t know who this will help but…if you happen to be an Apple Watch person, my big recommend is orienting away from your hand so work gloves and such can’t compress the crown and trigger ‘is it time to dial 911?’ messages while you’re just doing stuff. Coats and such too.
Busy ugly hot. Restoring our porch with recycled materials. At one point some birds tried making a nest in the crook of the temp support. We never bothered them, the nest was eventually abandoned and we learned it became a Fromsoft Bloodborne asset full of dead fungus and baby spiders
Moving along: Usefulness of anchoring a three-quarter view via a disc of implied space. I have like 5 versions of this scene in my brain and I’m trying to work out the most tonally and emotionally accurate sum of how the characters would behave here
Life is meant to be chaotic. We gather it and share it and add to it. There is immense joy in that.
It’s taken decades but I’m beginning to make progress drawing completely digital rather than starting from a paper sketch. The trick for seems to be starting with a fat brush and gradually moving to thinner brushes only during refining the idea:
Share your cross sections! This actually proved to be maddeningly challenging, it totally kicked my ass and I’m not sure if I’ll take another swing at it!
