OMG, I've just found out that Tommy Cooper was from Caerphilly. I'm old enough to remember him from the telly in the 1970s, but even though I grew up less than 15 miles away, I can't recall anyone ever saying he was one of ours. You learn something new everyday.

The intense looking rain storms are in fact artefacts produced by offshore windmills interfering with the rain radars. Meanwhile, the orange blobs, which represent wild fires, are very real.

On the left, a mural painted to honour Isambard Kingdom Brunel's revolutionary dock at Briton Ferry in South Wales. On the right, the building's owner had it painted over because the artist didn't get permission. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing the white wall will soon be covered by graffiti.

Can this be true, or is the heat starting to make me hallucinate? According to the forecast for Swindon, from Sunday the max temperatures will be in the low 20Cs until at least Thursday. 🙏
What I don't understand is where's this heat coming from? The winds (up to at least 10,000ft) are coming from the direction of the very cold North Sea. None of it is coming from the continent (which would be my usual suspect).
