The first key moment came when Barack Obama was elected in 2008. Though Obama had won a sweeping victory and the country was in the midst of a catastrophic economic crisis, McConnell told his caucus they had a path back to power: Obstruct everything Obama tried to do, regardless of whether Republicans had any substantive objections to it. Only if they forced Obama to fail could they retake power.

If it seemed like the parties were working together, he explained, Obama would get the credit; if all the public saw was gridlock and nasty infighting, the president would get the blame.

The radio traffic from OpenMHz.com indicates that the 911 caller last night was a woman in Baltimore. The crew from Engine 7 arrived and could not get anyone to answer the door. They apparently forced entry into the home. The radio traffic gives the impression that Senator Graham may not have immediately been in cardiac arrest when they arrived, but there is no confirmation of that information. Here’s the unofficial timeline for the call:

· 8:27:34 Engine 7 and Medic 7 (a paramedic ambulance) were dispatched to Graham’s home on South Capitol Street SE (I’ve omitted the street numbers).
· 8:32:34 Engine 7 requested a callback to get someone inside to open the locked front door.
· 8:33:34 (timestamp missing on video) Dispatcher reported that the caller said she was not in the home and the door is unlocked.
· 8:34:15 Dispatcher reported that the caller asked if they knocked on the door, believing the patient would answer. Engine 7 responded, “Yes. Repeatedly.”
· 8:35:05 Dispatcher said the caller is coming from Baltimore. The dispatcher asked Engine 7 if they would like a ladder truck company to force entry and asked about the need for DC Police. Engine 7 said they will need police, but they could handle forcing entry into the home.
· 8:53:28 Engine 7 reported CPR was in progress “now” and requested an EMS supervisor (standard on cardiac arrest calls).
· 8:54:00 EMS 6, an EMS supervisor, was dispatched.
· 9:13:41 Battalion Chief 2 told the dispatcher to attach him to the run with Engine 7 (this is not routine on most cardiac arrest calls and is likely an indication of who the patient was).

There are the conflicts of interest, the DOJ purges, the slush fund, the January 6th pardons and attempted self-pardons, the nakedly political prosecutions, his “war” on judges, and the stonewalling of oversight efforts.

Democrats shouldn’t ignore all of that as they go about grilling President Trump’s nominee to be our nation’s top law enforcement official. But there is one area they should really focus on—an area that, far more than any others, could be Blanche’s undoing:

the Epstein files.

It’s been eight months since Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, but voters still bring up the files, often unprompted, in many of the focus groups we conduct. And it’s not just partisan Democrats; we hear it from all kinds of groups—men, women, young, old, Republicans of all stripes, from three-time Trump voters to Biden-to-Trump flippers.

Last month, the New York Times reported that Trump’s chosen pollster, Tony Fabrizio, warned top officials about a series of focus groups he conducted that found the Epstein files remained firmly on voters’ minds. That’s consistent with everything I’ve been hearing from voters over the past year.

They’re pissed. They feel like they’ve been lied to, and they’re right.

Emergency medical services received a call around 8:30 p.m. for a person suffering chest pains at a Capitol Hill home owned by Graham, according to the audio. About 25 minutes later, emergency personnel said that CPR was in progress and that a man at the house was suffering from cardiac arrest.

A person who lives on Graham’s street shared photos of an older man being taken from Graham’s home by a wheeled stretcher and loaded into an ambulance around 9:30 p.m. The man was then taken to George Washington University Hospital.

2/2 While drinking water wasn't affected here, it's a reminder of the impact thousands of data centers going up around the country can have on essential water and electrical resources. Note that this Meta incident in WY could still affect humans via aerosolized droplets.

The incident occurred during “fill-and-flush” operations, a process used to clean and prepare large cooling systems before they become operational. Officials were keen to stress that the bacterium was never found in drinking water, only water used for irrigation and other non-potable purposes. But despite this, there was concern that residents could be exposed to the bacteria through inhaling aerosolized droplets where the water was used, for example in parks and golf courses.

Multiple presidential administrations have used temporary barriers on Pennsylvania Avenue, but the Secret Service’s suggestion to erect permanent fences there has faced pushback as a clear attempt to restrict public access to the White House. The Trump administration is also planning to put up permanent fencing around Lafayette Square, a public park across from the White House and another historic protest space.

The fences on Pennsylvania Avenue would affect multiple organizations that are located on the street, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery and the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream. And new fencing could cut off the public’s view of the White House and deter, if not outright bar, pedestrians from getting through.

One female staffer who talked to me for this edition of Press Pass relayed that this happened to her at a bar in the city. She declined to name the member on record, for fear of reprisal, but relayed that she got away from him by swapping seats with a male colleague.

It was a moment notable, in part, for its commonness. In ways big and small, younger women in D.C. make calculated decisions to minimize their risk of harassment by powerful political figures, and they rely on whisper networks to know which lawmakers to be more vigilant around. Some of their bosses—or the power-players they interact with or report on—are known for having too much to drink, others for cheating on their wives. Some are known for both.

Records Necessary to Prevent Irreparable Harm to New Mexico's
Criminal Investigation
Dear Acting Attorney General Blanche and Associate Deputy AG Pestana,
The New Mexico Department of Justice ("NMDOJ") writes with urgent purpose.
Without complete and prompt access to relevant unredacted records held by the
United States Department of Justice (“USDOJ”), survivors of serious criminal
conduct at Jeffrey Epstein's Zorro Ranch in New Mexico are being denied justice.
That harm is a direct consequence of the USDOJ's continued failure to comply with
the NMDOJ's outstanding records request.
Heavily redacted open-source records already establish that multiple survivors were
brought to Zorro Ranch in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, on numerous occasions,
where they were subjected to sexual abuse and exploitation. The redacted records
show that, under those redactions, records in the USDOJ's custody contain the names
of survivors, witnesses, co-conspirators, and other individuals whose identities are
essential to the NMDOJ's ability to fulfill its obligation to investigate and prosecute
criminal conduct occurring within this State. The NMDOJ's efforts to obtain these
materials through cooperative means have been extensive and, to date, unsuccessful:
I. February 13, 2026 — Written correspondence to then-Deputy Attorney
General Blanche requesting access to a specific EFTA document and all related
Zorro Ranch investigative materials.
II. March 13, 2026 — Formal letter to Atto…

and directed the NMDOJ to submit a formal Touhy letter through standard
channels.
IV. May 3, 2026 — Comprehensive Touhy letter submitted to First Assistant U.S.
Attorney Ryan Ellison and FBI Albuquerque Special Agent in Charge Justin
Garris, identifying specific EFTA document examples and requesting access to
all relevant unredacted records. This letter sought a response from the USDOJ
by May 11, 2026.
V. May 29, 2026 — Written follow-up to Acting Attorney General Blanche and
Associate Deputy AG Pestana renewing the request after receiving no
substantive response to the Touhy submission.
VI. June 4–5, 2026 — Meeting requests directed to your office seeking an in-person
conference during Attorney General Torrez's visit to Washington, D.C. No
response was received.
Despite verbal assurances of cooperation from the USDOJ, access to the requested
records has not been granted, no substantive response has been provided, and more
than 130 days have now elapsed since the NMDOJ's initial request. The NMDOJ
views this length of time as an unreasonable delay under any rule of reason.
The NMDOJ’s urgent need for this information is a direct result of actions by the
USDOJ. In 2019, the NMDOJ opened an investigation into criminal conduct at Zorro
Ranch, gathering witness accounts, generating investigative reports, and engaging
in regular coordination with federal prosecutors. That investigation was halted at the
express request of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York,
which sought to consolidate New Mexico's investigative materials into its federal
prosecution of Epstein's co-conspirators. In good faith, the NMDOJ complied.
On September 17, 2019, then-Chief Deputy Attorney General Clara Moran
transmitted to AUSA Maurene Comey the entirety of the NMDOJ's investigative file
— including police reports, recorded witness interviews, and materials related to
Epstein's use of New Mexico public lands — a…

According to the New York Times, the switch in jet was prompted by advice from the Secret Service. Citing unnamed sources briefed on the Qatari jet’s capabilities, the report said it lacks all the features of the older Air Force One. The report noted that the change of planes was a precautionary measure urged by the Secret Service rather than any specific threat from Iran.

Even the Americans who today call themselves “socialist” or “democratic socialist” are mostly Scandinavian-style social democrats. They aren’t advocating the abolishment of private property and the creation of a Politburo to run the government; what they want is essentially a free enterprise system with more robust regulation and a more comprehensive system of social supports.

More importantly, the argument now is about which version of capitalism we ought to have — and Trump is trying to create what may be the worst possible one.

Police say officers were responding to calls of shots fired in downtown Memphis just before 4 am local time when they saw "an armed male carrying a handgun." The man — identified by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as 20-year-old Tyrin Johnson — fled on foot, pursued by Memphis police officers along with Tennessee National Guard soldiers who are assigned to the area.

What happened next was not immediately clear.

"For reasons under investigation, the situation escalated, resulting in two National Guard soldiers firing upon Johnson, striking and killing him," according to a statement from the TBI. Memphis police said the man had "turned toward NG members with his weapon" before the National Guard soldiers fired their weapons and struck him.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. No law enforcement officers were hurt in the incident, according to the TBI.

I’m not here to claim these guys are Feds or anything of the sort.

When I organize with the Proud Boys, we always operate with a clear strategic objective at every event. Protect people, amplify an important issue, provide personal security for individuals, or in many cases simply show up, stand tall, and enjoy the camaraderie with the Boys at conservative events.

What I’ve never understood is the marching in formation. To me, it comes across as cringe and theatrical. If the sole objective is simply to be seen, then mission accomplished.

After Charlie Kirk was assassinated, the Proud Boys were asked to provide security at multiple vigils held in his honor. We didn’t show up in our black and yellow. We didn’t want to make it about us. The story wasn’t about the Proud Boys. It was about the cold-blooded murder of one of the titans of the New Right. We wanted the focus to stay exactly where it belonged.

Patriot Front chose differently. They rolled up in full uniform with their flags flying. The media immediately pounced. The headlines weren’t about Charlie Kirk anymore. They were about Patriot Front.

That wasn’t just shortsighted. It was selfish. Whether it was deliberate or not, I’ll leave that for others to decide. But the effect was clear: they hijacked the moment for their own optics, and a solemn occasion for a fallen leader became another spectacle for the evening news.

In January 2025, Senator Mike Lee said the deep state group Patriot Front would cease to exist when Kash Patel was confirmed as FBI Director.

On July 4, 2026, after hundreds of Patriot Affront members in face diapers marched through DC, they said Kash Patel wasn’t fit to run the FBI because he’s Indian and Indians shouldn’t run any federal agency.

Mike Lee and Laura Ingraham on July 4, 2026 said Patriot Affront is no longer deep state, it’s Antifa.
