My favourite time of the year in my favourite part of the world 🐟☀️🌊🗺️🚤
Classic northern Spain summer day today, cloudy, mild and humid. One of the very few this year. These past weeks feel like a traumatic awakening of the times to come. The constant heat, the lack of rain, the extraordinarily warm sea water, the wildfires, the race for aircon, the hosepipe bans…..
Well today’s been a “balmy” 31C. After the eerie silence of the past 3 days, with no birds to be heard, today’s chirping feels like a resurrection of sorts. I’ve managed to do a first damage assessment and clearing. A few dead plants. Not good. But not catastrophic. Looking forward to normal :( 🌱🌿🍃
Monster heatwave, day one. 39.6C. Fresh water points scattered around the garden for birds and insects. It’s either beach or aircon. Beach 📍Laredo, Cantabria, Northern Spain 🗺️
After spending well over 10 summers in Crete, it was time to try and learn the language. I enrolled an online course with Athens University. Today I had my first test - 90.48/100!! I can’t believe I have been able to give a go at a language with completely different letters! Sample question 👇🏼
My daughter wanted a garden, and a garden she got 👰🏻♀️🤵🏻🌱🌿🌸🪷🌷💍
