I found a conker putting out a root by the back door earlier this year. I popped it on a pot of compost and now look at it! My tree-baby 🌿
Re. British Mission, I've recently added Gareth Williams' book to my pile of atomic literature (to which Close's will be added). He seeks to establish the critical role the Mission played in the Mangattan Project, with a great deal of success, tho' inevitably a lot of the same events are covered.
The mulberry crop is now in full flow 😁 So messy, but such a unique flavour 😋 #mulberries
Today may be #internationalcatday, but Monkey hasn't noticed. After all, everyday is Monkey Day! #caturday
Rain is forecast🤞 But Binks is asleep in the outdoor chair, so I can't bring it in! What to do? 😸 #caturday

Tantalising details 😍 Romulus, Remus and the she-wolf feature on the Franks casket, too. I see (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franks_...) there are possible parallels with Hengist and Horsa.
Happy Adlestrop Day! "Yes. I remember Adlestrop The name, because one afternoon Of heat, the express-train drew up there Unwontedly. It was late June." May the blackbird - and all the birds wherever you are - sing for you today 🐦⬛🎶 #adlestrop #poetry #edwardthomas

Monkey has spent his day snoozing, too. No doubt recuperating after his 3am attic antics. Although his post-supper protein rush propelled him briefly up a tree, he has now selected my lap for his next episode of sleep. I am privileged 😸 (Note how brown he has turned in the recent sun!)
Lovely, captures some of the atmosphere of the place ☺️ Here are some more of the doors of Lanhydrock. I confess I got quite fascinated by them! #adoorablethursday #kernow #cornwall
Photo by Barry Feinstein used on cover of No Direction Home album. As a 4-5 yr old kid, I was scared when we went on the ferry at the start of our summer hols. The muddy waters seemed too close for comfort, and I remember worrying about life belts, etc. But I lived to see the opening of the bridge!
Life is good (when you're a cat). Monkey enjoys the evening air in the field. #caturday
Wayland's Smithy, Jun 2018. A distinct feeling of the long past, as if the stones themselves had roots like the sheltering grove of beeches'. #tombtuesday #waylandsmithy #wiltshire
This is just to say I have drunk the Tizer that was in the icebox and which you were probably saving for your birthday party Forgive me it felt so naughty soooo sweet and so cold
Hoorah! 🍾 I was allowed one Tizer a year, when we stopped for a break on our way back from hols at our gran's in Suffolk. Here we are about to set off for home. A Morris Traveller was quite big enough for our mum, the four of us kids and luggage, toys, picnic box, Primus, etc. for a fortnight
Washed down with lukewarm Corona 😋 I was never allowed the cherry flavour, I think my mother considered it self-indulgent.
