Toby is watching TV with me. Showing him Idiocracy, for some reason it feels appropriate.
Dahlia season is upon us. We cut our first bloom today, this is RM Rose Gold.
Today we have America. Only one plant survived of the 10 seeds we planted, but look at how pretty it is with the red and white flake. Hopefully we get some seeds from this one and it does better next year.
Today I learned that the goldenrod crab spider changes color from white to bright yellow depending on which flower it is hiding in. Pretty cool! Warning, pictures of spiders below.
Last one for tonight is April in Paris. Also known as High Scent because of her aroma. The frilly white with the purple edging is a favorite. She also is a prolific bloomer, we have several dozen blooms today.
This one is King's Ransom. A bit of a unicorn, we had to source seeds from multiple sellers and still only got 40 seeds! Really pretty though, I can understand the hype.
This one is new for us this year. She's named Miss Wilmott. Last year we had one stray seed of her and we called it volunteer, but after some searching we found that it's Miss Wilmott. Very pretty.
I think this one is Bix. A white with a bit of purple edging. Look at the long stem. 😍
Today we have Prince of Orange. Early blooms, I think later blooms will be more orange and a bit less pink. #sweetpeas
Blooms are ramping up! These are more Shell Pink. We have some other varieties starting to bloom also.
We got our first sweet pea flower of the year! This one is called Shell Pink.
