It’s mid-season for daylilies! Four from the past couple of days: Bela Lugosi, Frank Smith, a nice light yellow from the from triangle at the St Anthony Park library, and my favorite large melon-colored one. #FlowerReport
First day of free herbs at the St Anthony Park library! (Tuesday mornings by 10am.) new this year: scallions, shallots, tarragon. And check out the window boxes and gardens while you’re there.
High summer begins. Wild bergamot, white yarrow, and cardinal flower. #FlowerReport
I just saw this 1940 Mexican painting in a museum. Its title, translated, was Woman and Lilies. I thought, whoa, I hope no one tried eating those lilies!
Prospect Park (Minneapolis) bridge brigade, every Thursday morning. 18+ people.
It’s a pattern! This could have been Judge orders Trump to pay Carroll $5.8M
Such passive voice. In other - shorter but clearer - words, Judge orders Trump to pay Carroll $5.8 million
Daylilies starting to bloom, plus the zinnias outside the entrance to Mia. #FlowerReport
Lu’s Sandwiches at 4th in the Park (Langford Park, St Anthony Park St Paul) for the first time.
For all the non-soccer people, here’s some great St. John’s wort. #FlowerReport
Pre-July 4 Thursday morning bridge brigade in Prospect Park (Minneapolis).
Three summer native plants to cheer us on this downer day. Butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa), rattlesnake master (Eryngium yuccifolium), and prairie baby’s breath (Euphorbia corollata) mixed with culinary dill. #FlowerReport
After attending the memorial vigil for Barbara Mork-Woodford at the intersection of Hamline Ave and Midway Parkway in Saint Paul, it's hard not to notice just how pedestrian-unfriendly that intersection at a major entrance to Como Park is. Contrast it with the rebuilt Como intersection:
Friday flowers. Impatiens Harmony Radiance Lilac, Corydalis lutea, Hydrangea Tiny Tuff Stuff, eastern prickly pear. #FlowerReport
Prospect Park (Minneapolis) Thursday morning bridge brigade over I-94. This week's theme was "pieces of blue."
Four from the Pollinator Patch at Raymond and Robbins in St. Paul: black-eyed Susans, catmint Purrsian Blue, sand coreopsis, creeping thyme. #FlowerReport
Flowers and foliage while out and about. Phlox EarliBeauty Daughter of Pearl, a container with coleus and Petchoa, red baneberry, and sedum Little Missy. #FlowerReport
A friend with dozens of martagon lilies in her garden had an open garden day today. #FlowerReport
Re: that video w the pickup truck that's 2 trucks tall... I saw this truck parked on a street in St Paul in May. It was not as gigantic as the one in the video, but !!! These are symbols of government not working: they should at least require a commercial drivers license, if not be banned outright.
I don’t always appreciate Torenia but I like this combination with Ageratum and white petunias. Echinacea angustifolia coming into bloom against Clematis recta, and a different Clematis recta showing flowers and buds.
Annual combinations outside Shish on Grand Ave in Saint Paul. That tone-on-tone mound of pink is what really caught my eyes first. #FlowerReport
From Minnesota Department of Safety's crash stat site, at this intersection from 2000-end of 2025 there have been just 2 northbound crashes related to the intersection with possible injuries (the "lowest" type of injury rating). roadsafetyinfocenter.mn.gov/map/informat...
Prospect Park (Minneapolis) pedestrian bridge, Thursday mornings 7:30-8:30 a.m.
Saw a notice in my hometown FB group from a person on the road I grew up on: three goats found in that person’s yard. They’ve been put in a shed to keep them from being hit by a car and to prevent them from eating all the plants. Very neighborly!
Gold and white: sand coreopsis, Clematis recta, California poppies, and a white Thunbergia (I’ve Meuse en one before). #FlowerReport
